The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 208 – Tremor!

I carefully wrap Taula’s sword with a sealing scroll again.

I’m very interested in the rewritten patterns in the part where my blood touched, but I have to leave that for later, because the tremor is more important.

“I hope I’m wrong, but…”

One of the memories I saw when the shaman’s consciousness flowed into me seems related to this tremor.

I have Rose hide the rolled up sword, pick up my bag, and leave the room. I transmuted more potions after I used them all, so now the bag is packed with them.

The door opens smoothly and without any trouble.

I guess a tremor like that is nothing for a special building made by Eve.

I look around as soon as I step outside. The curtain of night makes it hard to see clearly, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of damage. The illumination magic items are working too, and the buildings illuminated by their light don’t seem to have caved-in, at least not a lot.

There are still a lot of buildings made from Eve’s bamboo here in Putaresque.

That tremor was pretty strong, but what’s worrying me the most, is that if the information I got from the shaman’s memories is correct, there’s a chance that the entire continent shook.

I hurry to the main office of the Kagero Institute, and when I reach it, I see it’s crowded.

“Master Rust!”

Shellrule is giving instructions to her subordinates, and runs my way.

“Shellrule? You seem fine. Is everyone else all right? Was anyone here hurt?”

“Yes! We are confirming it now, but for the moment we have three employees with minor wounds, and they have all been treated. We are setting up a system to treat the wounded that will be brought here. We have informed Lady Kalin that we are available to deal with the wounded.”

There’s a simple tent being set up in front of the square. I see people from different organizations take materials out of their expanded bags and backpacks, and quickly getting ready.

“Wonderful, Shellrule. You managed this perfectly in such a short amount of time. Keep setting up the system to treat people. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of damage here in Putaresque, but use all the potions you need, and don’t worry about saving them. I can transmute more if it’s necessary.”

“Ooh! We can see chief Rust’s high speed transmutation again.”

“Yes! I’m definitely stealing at least one of those great techniques this time…”

“Master Rust’s transmutation is so pretty. The composition of that magic circle is a sight for sore eyes…”

The members of the Kagero Institute around us cheer for some reason. Shellrule tries to rein that back.

“Everyone, keep moving your hands. We have plenty of potions in stock. You can see Master Rust’s transmutation later. The first batch of wounded people should be arriving at any time. Everyone responsible for using 《Transcribe》 and healing in particular, start getting ready right away.”

Everyone starts running around again.

I look at this with pride, as I feel how reliable they are, and leave this place to them.

I tell Shellrule I’m leaving for now, and head to where Kalin is.
