“Can you hear me!?”
I say to the person cowering while taking out potions, and checking if she’s conscious.
But then…
“Bumoh!!!”
Hipopo gives me its most grave warning.
The next moment, in front of the Rose Garden, a building near us facing the street explodes.
The loud sound is followed by rubble flying in all directions, including ours.
“Bumomomomo!”
Hipopo moves in front of us to protect me and the other person. It stands on its two back legs and uses the other six to kick and deflect incoming debris.
Hipopo moves its six legs all over the place as the sound of things smashing fills the street.
Some of it is crushed, some of it is deflected, and a cloud of dust fills the area around us.
I have potions in my hands, and cover the person in front of me to protect her from the small bits that make it here.
Then I see a pale light breaking through the cloud of dust and heading this way.
It’s a half circle. What appears after the destruction of the building is a giant ladybug with a blue body and white dots.
That thing is two times larger than Hipopo, but it presses forward very fast as Hipopo is busy dealing with the rubble.
Scrolls? No, I won’t make it in time!
I immediately reach for scrolls, but I’m definitely not going to activate them in time.
But then, a streak of light runs as it rips through the cloud of dust from behind us.
It heads towards the giant ladybug, and after a dull metallic sound echoes, the giant ladybug is flung away.
“Master Rust! Are you all right?”
It’s Roa, and she’s holding the new transmuted beast spear. The streak of light came from the magic elements enveloping its tip.
The stretched vine shaped handle of the spear contracts, following Roa’s movements, and the tip goes back to Roa’s spear.
“Roa! Why are you here?”
“Oh? We are here too, Master Rust.”
“That’s right Rust. We brought Princess Lily to the capital, but it looks like something more interesting is going on.”
The cloud of dust clears, and I see not just Roa, but also Ahri and Kalin. Princess Lily is here too.
