“Ahri…”
As I start to feel uneasy, I hear an adult woman’s voice behind me, that sounds somewhat childish.
I change my expression, and respond while turning around.
“What is it, Princess Lily?”
“I’m all right. Go there too.”
She says as she unsheathes her sword.
I’m guessing her body is simply used to those movements, because they look too crisp in contrast with the overall childish air around her.
But she is doing this out of consideration for me, so I think back and realize that she is noticing my impatience and irritation.
This is no good. Lady Kalin entrusted me with the duty of guarding her.
“I apologize, Princess Lily, but I will stay by your side.”
“I think I can fight too. This new sword is weirdly easy to swing.”
She holds the sword while giggling. She has a regular size sword in her hands.
“But still, just in case something happens…”
But then, my magic eye activates again.
I stop talking, spin my spear, and hold it with an underhand grip.
The stone pavement below me begins to swell.
“Ah!”
What overturns the pavement turns out to be a pill bug the size of a child with that same pale glow.
I stab it with my spear just as it comes out of the ground.
“Kya!”
Screams Princess Lily.
I turn to look and see the stone pavement below Princess Lily is also turning over and another pill bug enveloped in that pale light shows itself.
Princess Lily is screaming, but she swings her sword and catches the pill bug, bisecting it vertically.
“I-I did it. Did you see that Ahri?”
She says as she waves her hands with a happy look on her face.
“I did…!”
My future sight activates again.
I run towards Princess Lily and reach out to her.
She will fall! I have to reach her!
I somehow reach her in time, thrusting her away.
But the next moment, I lose my footing, and feel myself floating.
This is what I saw happening to Princess Lily.
A giant pill bug that is not much smaller than the giant ladybug opens a hole, and I fall into it.
