“Ahri!”
“Big sister!”
Roa and I run as Ahri falls into the hole.
“Roa, can you see anything?”
“…No. There are a lot of enemies with purifying light in there, I think. They’re getting in the way.”
Roa says as she peeks into the hole.
Kalin also comes running.
“What happened!? Where’s Ahri? Did you see anything, Princess Lily?”
Kalin asks.
“I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry…”
Princess Lily says as she trembles with her unsheathed sword still in hand.
“Please calm down, Princess Lily. Deep breaths. Just tell us what you saw, one thing at a time.”
Kalin puts on a calm exterior with a gentle voice, but we, who know Kalin well, can feel anger reverberating beyond that gentle voice.
But it seems to work, and helps Princess Lily calm down, because she soon starts muttering to Kalin what happened.
“Master Rust, take this.”
Roa lifts her head from the hole, and closes her eyes as she takes off the glasses magic item and hands it to me.
I can tell where this is going. She wants to go over the limits of her magic eyes to check if her sister is safe.
“It’s too much! Stop, Roa…”
“Just for a little. Take it, Master Rust. And hold me so I don’t fall.”
Her voice is full of determination, so I reluctantly accept the magic item and stand behind her to prop her up by her lower back.
“That way I’m going to fall.”
“…All right.”
I put my arms around her waist, and after checking to see if I’m holding her tightly, Roa pitches forward and faces the hole again.
“I’m starting.”
Roa suddenly opens her eyes, and magic elements around us start gathering in them.
This is a special trait of Roa’s magic eyes that I used as reference when I made that artificial eye for Harold. But this is only a small part of her power.
Magic elements keep getting drawn into Roa’s magic eye, and images from the bottom of the hole are transmitted to her, breaking through the interference of the purifying light.
This power allows her to see a lot, but it’s also a great burden that eats away at her body.
The overwhelming power causes her body to be assaulted by sharp pain.
She opens her mouth wide and lets out a quiet scream, and I hold her tightly as she writhes in pain.
Roa closes her eyes, throws her body back, and puts her hands on them.
Is it over!?
I quickly get the trembling Roa away from the hole and lay her down on the ground, before taking out a freshly made 《Seal》 scroll and wrapping it around her face.
“Here it is! The potion for Roa!”
I take out a potion I made after investigating her magic eyes.
I made it just in case the glasses magic item malfunctioned.
“Roa, drink this!”
I open the bottle and lift her head just a little.
Roa’s mouth opens slightly, so I place the bottle near it and slowly let her drink the potion.
