The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 334 – Side Ahri – Part thirteen

I’m thrown in the air, and as my vision spins, I see something clad in pale light getting near.

It’s an attack by that enemy called ant man.

It casually grabbed a purifying light clad ant around its feet, crushed it in its hand, and threw it at me.

“Oh… My ant man’s ant ball attack. Splendid splendid.”

That rolled up ant was thrown by the power of that thing’s arm alone, but the ball is coming towards me at an incredible speed. It’s already right in front of me.

I twist my body in the air, and just barely catch it with the handle of my spear.

But the impact… I have no way to protect myself against its momentum in mid-air, so I am thrown along with the ant ball against the wall of the basement.

It’s the second time today my back is smacked like this. I feel like my internal organs were badly damaged.

The impact also bursts the ant ball open, and paints the area around me blue.

“…! Kaha!”

Is the sound I unintentionally make as the air comes out of my lungs.

But another ant ball soon follows. More than one in fact.

Move! Move! Move!!

The pain and impact left me groggy, and I try to sloppily roll on the floor.

Somehow I manage to turn and move on the floor, but that is not enough to dodge the rain of ant balls.

I protect my vital parts with my limbs, but the ant balls hitting me one after the other leave my body in tatters.

An ant ball grazes my hand and bends my fingers.

An ant ball catches my knee and breaks my kneecap.

An ant ball scratches my face and scrapes my earlobe.

All these ant balls rain down on me at the same time, but I hold on to my faint consciousness, and roll on the ground to lessen the damage as much as I can.

The pain is surpassing my limit. It is going beyond pain, and feeling like a tormenting heat.

This suffering that seemed like it would go on forever suddenly stops. It looks like that thing ran out of ants near its feet.

“It didn’t finish you, uh? No problem, I’ll give you more right away, ant man.”

Brags the enemy that looks like a village girl before she whistles again.

It’s a perfect opportunity for me.

I force myself to use the fingers that were bent by a direct hit, and try to take out the potion while still on the floor.

My bent fingers tremble, and I slowly take the bottle out, but it falls from my hand.

It rolls in front of my face, and I can see the enemy through the bottle.

Ants clad with purifying light answer her call and swarm out from the floor and walls to serve as ammunition for that ant man.

I think I used all the energy I had left in that hand, because I can’t lift it anymore.

Ants gather around ant man, and I muster up what strength I have left to twist my body. Thankfully, my mouth is still safe, and I manage to use it to grab the potion bottle.

I gather strength in my jaw, and crunch.

I hear glass breaking, and after it cuts my mouth, the potion starts pouring out and filling it.
