The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 93 – Start the naming ceremony!!

Ahri approaches me and quickly tells me how the ceremony is going to go.

I listen to her, but at the same time try to come up with a name for the research department.

She looks uneasy for some reason, but apparently she’s very busy, because she rushes over to explain the same thing to someone else.

It’s time for the ceremony to start, and Ahri goes up on stage.

“Thank you all for coming. We will now name this town, the first in the Admiral dominion. But first, some people who have traveled a long distance and are here with us today will be coming up on stage. Let us welcome them with a round of applause.”

So Ahri is presenting it.

“Taula the knight priest. A knight of the goddess Araysla, who was bestowed one of her three swords.”

The audience applauds loudly as Taula walks on stage from the side.

“Master Halhammer. A former president of the alchemist association and a master ranked alchemist with many achievements under his belt.”

There is a rumbling in the crowd. People are more curious about Halhammer, since Taula has been here before.

Halhammer just keeps walking while waving until he’s next to Taula.

Then, some high officials from neighboring territories and some other visitors are introduced.

“Next, we will be introducing the chiefs of the various departments.”

Ahri calls Litna and the others on stage. I’m the last one, probably because she’s calling us in the order that we arrived here.

“The chief of the alchemy research department, Master Rust.”

She finally calls my name, and I go up the stairs in front of me to get on stage.

My vision suddenly widens, and is filled with the crowd in the square.

Then, I hear applause much louder than anyone else got, and I even hear some people calling my name.

These voices are filled with affection and gratitude of the people I’ve met here in the camp.

My chest feels warm all of a sudden.

It’s true, I have help many people ever since I got here. It all started when I cured the disease, but I also treat small wounds all the time. I also solved the water problem and fought the armored salmon.

Still, that’s just my job. It just feels like it’s natural for me to do those things. But standing here and feeling this gratitude really makes me think I’m glad I decided to come to this place.

I never felt this gratitude in the alchemist association, that’s for sure… I’m so glad I quit.

I wave while moving to the place Ahri tells me to go, but I’m so distracted that I accidentally end up in the wrong spot.

Litna and the others point to where I’m supposed to go, and I move there while thanking them with gestures.

The way we’re standing forms two lines, which makes the shape of a semicircle.

Ahri speaks again.

“Lastly, please be silent for our lord, Lady Kalin Admiral.”

The enthusiasm turns into complete silence.

Not a single noise can be heard, until we hear the sound of high pitched footsteps, as Kalin enters the stage.
