We’re in the Kingdom of Ryuse, but without anything in particular to do.
We talked about doing intelligence operations, but that’s not so simple. It’d be nice if that was something we could just do.
And so, Reve and I are walking through the capital while shopping. It would be a waste to stay in a hotel the whole time after traveling far away, so we’ve come to the city with hopes that there’s something to do.
And Ryuse delivered. This being a big country means it feels like they have pretty much everything.
“This is the capital of a big country, but there really are so many people. It’s so lively.”
“Yes. This city alone probably has the same population as our country. It really makes me feel the difference in scope.
“Well, it is one of the leading nations in this world.”
Kanna isn’t with us. She said she was going to see some people for the sake of maintaining relations, and disappeared somewhere.
That means Reve and I are alone. Can we… Call this a date?
“Is there anything you want, Noa?”
“Hm… I’d like to buy clothes.”
“Clothes?”
“Yes, clothes. I’m technically naked right now.”
“…Fue?”
“What I’m showing is something I made with magic… No, not even that. I just made it look like I’m wearing something.”
I’m in my humanoid form, and it looks like I’m wearing a black robe. But this is just for show. I’m using magic to make it seem to people around me that I’m wearing clothes, but I’m actually wearing nothing at all.
“I’m a monster. I don’t have clothes.”
“Eh, I see…”
“Yes, so I want to buy clothes. And I can’t stay in this robe form forever anyway, right?”
A black robe is about all I can muster, because I have no fashion sense.
“Yes… This is a little more serious than I was thinking. Let’s go shopping for clothes. You can’t stay naked. Let’s find you a clothing store.”
“…Thank you. But it looks like there are clothing stores all over the place.”
Looking around, there are plenty of stalls selling clothes.
“How about here?”
“Noa, you are accompanying the leader of a country… If you’re buying clothes, it should be in a proper store…”
“We don’t have money, right? I messed up too. I didn’t handle the materials of the monsters I defeated properly, and I could’ve made money with them. I was focused on just eliminating them.”
“…Yes, we don’t have money. It was hard to even get the dresses Kanna and I are wearing. Noa, that black robe suits you so weirdly well, that I never even considered you would need a formal attire.”
“Well, I am a dragon. My status as a living being kind of shows in the air around me.”
“That’s true. You have a mystical feeling to you.”
“Do I? I’m happy to hear that.”
“…Hum, let’s shop around here. You’re right, going to an expensive clothing store might put our finances at risk.”
“Yes, let’s. There’s a lot here that looks nice.”
I approach a stall, and look through the clothes.
Yep, I have no idea what I’m doing. What would suit me?
“I don’t want to stand out, so something plain would be nice.”
“I think you’re going to continue to stand out regardless of what you wear.”
“It’s not that bad.”
There’s all that stuff about my status as a living being, but I’m not that big.
“So what should we get? I honestly don’t really care.”
Even if it doesn’t fit me, I can change my size to fit.
I’ve never really cared about buying clothes, so I don’t know about designs and stuff either.
“Hm, what about this cardigan? It matches your cuteness.”
“If you say so, Reve.”
“Ah, this seems good as well.”
“I see. That might be good too.”
I just go along with what she says as she decides what clothes to buy.
