“Thank you so much Sora. Big sister, everyone, I caused a lot of trouble.”
“Don’t be like that Casey. We’re all friends here. And it’s thanks to you that we’re all here.”
“Yes Casey. We didn’t do anything special.”
Say Leila and Talia after Casey bows deeply.
She’s been doing this when I visit her room, now that her condition is stable, but I was rewarded for what I did, so it kind of itches.
In fact, I actually feel like I received too much. Is it because that man’s too much of a doting father?
“You’re looking better, but you should still take it easy. You need to let your body get used to it.”
“Yes.”
She sits up and opens and closes her hands.
I don’t know too much about health, so I think it’s best to leave the rest to someone who does.
“Are you going to continue traveling, Sora?”
“Yes. Once the others come back, we’re going to rest for a few days and then leave. It doesn’t look like there are any problems with Casey.”
“I see…”
“Are you going back to Majolica?”
“…We are going to stop by Messer in the Holy Kingdom, but then we are planning to go back.”
“The Holy City of Messer?”
When I say that, Mia flinches. A lot happened there.
“Actually, the war… It seems people who can hunt are being called. We are still students, but we might be called as well.”
“I received a letter from my father too. It’s because we are learning magic. He said he was worried, and to come back if it was looking like we’d be called.”
That sounds like something Dan, Yor’s father, might say.
“That was partially why we came here too, to escape, not in small part because we had to look after Casey. It pains me to abandon my duty as a noble, but…”
Leila says her mother works in the royal palace, and she says that it’s looking like in the near future, hunting parties will be formed to go to the dark forest.
Apparently opinions are split between countries in regards to the Kingdom of Elesya’s call, and there’s some confusion about it.
“I hear the Kingdom of Elesya has been saying that all people need to stand together to defeat the demon king.”
She seems exasperated as she says this, because a country touting human supremacy is also calling out to places like the Beast Kingdom of Lath and the Republic of Eldo.
They wouldn’t normally do that, but they’re calling for their help because it’s convenient for them.
The problem is that since it’s about the demon king that threatens everyone, they can’t overtly oppose it.
There are records that a long time ago, there was a country that refused a similar proposal, and was made to pay reparations after the demon king was defeated.
“I guess they wouldn’t suffer damage unless they bordered the dark forest. Wouldn’t the countries attacked by demons be the only ones to mobilize?”
“I think a lot of priests in the Holy Kingdom will join. People who can heal are important.”
“And they need medicine too. I think their value is going to go up a little.”
Say Yor and Luilui.
Medicine soaring in price… Being self-sufficient is great at times like these.
Then we all leave to the dining hall and have lunch.
It takes a bit of time because Casey can’t walk on her own, so Leila and her party help her along. Still, she’s slowly working her way towards being able to move on her own.
She can’t overexert herself. She’s still not great, so she needs to get used to it slowly.
It’s a road we all might have to go down one day. Best of luck.
◇ ◇ ◇
“Well then Leila, see you next time.”
“Yes, I will be waiting in Majolica. I won’t ask where you are going, but Hikari, look after Sora.”
“Yes. Leave it to me.”
Apparently Rurika, Sera, and Chris got closer to the others while on their picking quest too, and they’re saying goodbye to Fred, Siphon and the others in their party.
Now that I think about it, the first thing Rurika said when they got back was…
“Teaching people how to cook is hard.”
And…
“Hikari… A lot…”
Maybe it’s my imagination, but it feels to me like Fred and the other guys from that party lost a bit of weight.
“Thanks for the potions Sora.”
Says Fred after they’re done saying goodbye.
They gave me the herbs they had left after they delivered what they needed to complete the quest, and asked me to make potions. And I had free time anyway, so I did.
They paid me too, so it’s not like I worked for free either. I told them that wasn’t necessary, but they said it was work, and made me take it.
“Look after Leila and her party, Fred. You’re going to be escorting them on the way back too, right?”
“Of course. And this time we’re staying in the holy city for a bit, so I’m kind of looking forward to that too.”
Gown and Edel nod too.
They’re a dungeon party that’s never left Majolica, so adventuring outside must feel fresh for them.
“But it’s dangerous too. Siphon and the others have plenty of experience, so listen to them.”
And so, we leave for the mountain city of Lacteus, to make our way to the Republic of Eldo.

Nice to have another chapter to read. Seems like mc doing his typical beta stuff not wanting to be paid for work which is stupid as he’s providing a valuable service and his potions are much better then others both for taste and effect. So is the kingdom that’s going to war with demons the ones that summoned mc.
Could this mean mc will meet the people from Japan he came here with
One of those people (the spirit mage) is in the town that he is going to. (in the dark forest). She was trained by a female high elf, who is almost certainly Chris’ sister
Thanks for the treat.
