Walking in another world – Chapter 377 – To the capital – Part one

The next morning, we talk after we’re done eating.

Here in the dining hall are the ten people I brought with me from the demon king’s castle, and Suiren and Windsor.

“So, what did you want to talk about?”

Asks Rurika, and after peeking over at Windsor, I explain what the demons are up to.

When Shun hears it, he starts making a fuss.

“Quiet! Please.”

Says Kotori, and he immediately sits down and stays quiet.

I already knew the slave contract made this sort of thing possible, but I’m still surprised to hear the normally reserved Kotori issue an order so clearly.

And when people’s eyes fall on her, she starts fidgeting and looks down with her face turning red.

Apparently Shun was making a fuss because Miharu the saint is recovering in the castle.

“What do you want to do, Sora?”

“I… I don’t know if we’ll make it in time, but I want to help if I can. If it goes well, we might even be able to save people being forced to work against their will, like Hikari was.”

I say to Chris.

I don’t know what they’re planning, but I’m also worried for the demons, even if the barrier is weaker.

That’s just how bad the barrier is to demons, at least as far as I know. Even Ignis was trying not to get close to the capital.

Eris seems to know this too, after spending all that time with the demons, and she’s looking at Windsor with concern on her face.

“There’s also the rumor that there are elves in the capital.”

“What about Mia?”

“Maybe we can leave that for when this is over… We’re going to be exploring a dungeon again, so we also need to prepare anyway.”

We’ve already talked about the elixir, along with the fact that the key lies in the dungeon in the Dragon Kingdom.

“I’m also worried about Ghido and the others, but… Hum…”

Eris says she can’t go.

She was the demon king, but she thinks she’s just going to drag us down when fighting is involved.

Naoto and the others are surprised to hear her say that, but I get it.

She hasn’t stepped foot outside the demon king’s castle since she became demon king. It’s not like she has any experience fighting.

“Hikari and I are going… What about you, Rurika, Chris, and Sera?”

I’ve already talked about this with Hikari last night.

Hikari immediately said ‘you can count on me’. I get the feeling that she’s really raring to go.

“…We’re going too. You’re curious about it too, aren’t you Chris?”

Asks Rurika, and Chris nods.

I see. I figured Chris would be interested, but Rurika and Sera were raised by an elf, Morrigan, so of course they want to save elves if they hear about them being held captive.

“But what are we going to do? Are we going to make it in time if we go there now?”

Asks Sera, but that problem has been solved too.

“Leave that to us. We got permission from Ou. But we were contacted by Ghido, and he says that the day when they carry out their plan has already been decided.”

“And we’ll make it there in time?”

“Just barely. We should go as soon as we’re ready. We’re going to end up outside the city. Is that all right?”

It would be best if it was in a discreet place inside the city, but I guess that’s not possible.

“Well then Suiren. I think we can get in contact, so please act as an intermediary.”

Says Windsor, before himself and a few other demons he called fly away from the faraway town.

I guess they grabbed a magic item for communication along the way, and are flying straight to the Kingdom of Elesya.

And apparently they’re going to fly through an empty area to avoid fighting the people sent by Elesya and the empire.

“You’re going to the capital, right? Can’t you take me too?”

Asks Shun after Windsor has left.

I don’t know how to respond to that serious expression of his. After reuniting with Kotori, I heard from her what they had been doing, and apparently Shun likes Miharu.

I get that he wants to save her. I’d be thinking the same thing, if it was one of my friends instead.

But I have concerns. Firstly, could he go berserk? We should be able to avoid that if we bring Kotori along, but should we take her with us?

You could have asked the same thing about me before, but can she fight people?

Depending on the situation, we might even have to kill people. And although they used to practice fighting people, I don’t think they can fight to the death with them. Not to mention that they might know people among the kingdom’s knights.

But on the other hand, they know the interior of the castle. There were places they weren’t allowed to enter, but they still know a lot.

And so, I ask.

“Are you… Prepared to kill people?”
