Walking in another world – Chapter 408 – Migration plans – Part five

Morrigan and the others came back the day they were supposed to.

The otherworlders got their identification with no issues, so now they’re free to come and go. Apparently Morrigan has been teaching them all sorts of things, so they can be more knowledgeable about this world.

Argo looks really jealous, but Guilford says he still can’t even speak to her properly.

“Anyway, we settled on building a town centered on the ruins. So, Sora, can you ask the alchemist guild for soil medicine? We’ll pay for it of course.”

“I can make soil medicine myself, so that’s not a problem. The plan is to make it so the people from the faraway town are self-sufficient, right?”

“That’s it. And I want to discuss with them how the town is going to be built.”

I heard there are only a few people in the ruins right now, the ones guarding it, but the accommodations they used before are still there.

One thing to worry about is an attack from outside forces, but it’s safe to say it won’t come from Elesya after what happened.

I’ve heard from important people in the republic that countries except for Elesya, the empire, and the Dragon Kingdom share information.

A few days later, I take Morrigan, Eris, Hikari, and Kotori to the faraway town.

Argo wanted to come too, but apparently he’s going to the adventurer guild with his party to accept a quest. And Naoto and Shun are going with them.

Kaede and Miharu are helping Filo, and looking after the small children that can’t walk yet.

Chris and the others are going to the ruins ahead of us, and are taking a Transfer magic item with them to leave it close to the ruins. I don’t want it in the ruins exactly, because I want to keep Transfer a secret.

The plan is for the people who go first to make it seem like they came from the outside, and after the guards leave, I’ll start taking people there directly.

Windsor is going with them too, to act as both a contact and a guard.

“Miss Eris. Please come in.”

Suiren takes us to the dining hall.

The children are playing in the nursery. Hikari and Kotori head there to see them, but when I try to tag along, I’m stopped.

Then I’m told about how the ruins themselves can serve as a makeshift home if they’re fixed up, and how the people here want to move right away if they have the materials and are allowed to build homes.

But I don’t know if I’m going to be able to take everyone in one day, so they’re going to have to decide who goes first.

They also need to sort out what they’re taking. I’m carrying the larger stuff in my Item Box, especially furniture, but at this point, even I don’t know how much I can carry.

My Spatial Magic is maxed out, so I feel like my Item Box has never been full.

Anyway, I’ll just start with what’s most important.

I start working early in the morning, and I’m contacted by Windsor just as I’m finishing lunch.

I’m taking sixty people first. We’re trying to make a good balance between people who are good at fighting, people who can do housework, and children. Mostly trying to take whole families.

After three trips, we go to the ruins. On the last Transfer, I brought Morrigan and Hikari too.

Eris and Kotori are staying behind to help Suiren.

“We heard all about it! Come in!”

A few people I recognize are still here, and they lightly wave their arms.

It seems they’ve already been contacted, so now that we’re here, they’re going back to Nahal.

One person in charge of managing the facilities explains things to Morrigan, and men, centered on Windsor and Hiriluk, hear about the area around this place from the guards.

The women take luggage to the empty houses, while the kids play with Hikari. I warn them not to go too far, take the magic item from Chris, and head to the ruins.

There’s some damage left from Elesya’s attack, but this place was built sturdy to begin with, so there doesn’t seem to be any danger that it will collapse. And it looks like they did repairs too.

“Would it be best to bring everyone here after the guards clear out?”

“Yes. I don’t think they’re going inside, but that would probably be for the best.”

In the end, it takes two days for the guards to go back to Nahal.

“We are leaving the rest to you, Miss Morrigan and Miss Chris.”

“Thanks. Once the next set of people comes, we’ll be going back to Nahal too. I’ll say hello again then.”

I guess one of the managers is an acquaintance of Morrigan’s.

The next day, I’m tired. I’ve been using Transfer to come and go over and over. Among the people I brought were demons, like Ignis.

“Sora, sorry, but leave that magic item.”

I was going to take the magic item from the faraway town, since we won’t be going there anymore, but Ignis says no.

That’s odd.

“…There might be some people who want to go back from time to time.”

He says. Maybe some people will miss their hometown. Or forgot something.

Although, I’m going to the Dragon Kingdom once things are settled here, so who knows if I’ll be around when they want to go there.

Should I try making a communications magic item too?

As I think that, I get a few materials to make it from Ignis. But it’s still not enough, so I need more.

I can actually use Creation even without them, but it really affects the success rate.

I guess I’ll check after we go back to Nahal, and I get materials.
