I’m scared of how Eliana will react. Should I tell her the truth?
Then Chris gently grabs my hand, and I turn to her.
“Sora, let’s tell her the truth. I’m sure it will be fine.”
She says.
Her confident attitude is enough for me to straighten my back.
It may sound pathetic, but since she might be a goddess, I think we need to be careful with her. No, that’s just an excuse.
Despite the reason, I think I just feel bad for killing Elizabeth, who Eliana knows.
Appraisal is useful, but this time, knowing what who I’m talking to really is just made me scared.
“Alzahak isn’t in this world anymore.”
I give it to her straight without thinking, and I hear a small sigh from Chris. Sera is smiling awkwardly too.
I get why they’re reacting like that. Eliana’s face visibly twists when she hears me, and tears well up in her eyes. It looks like she’s about to cry.
“Ah, no, that’s not it. He’s not in this world, but he’s alive.”
“What do you mean~?”
“Alzahak is in the… Heavenly realm? Basically, he went back to where the gods live.”
Now she looks confused.
When Alzahak returned there, he said something that sounded like he used the gate Eris created, so he probably couldn’t get back on his own.
And Eliana might not fully believe that if I tell her.
“Anyway, I’ll explain things in order. But first, how much do you know about this world, Eliana?”
She’s here, but can she fly to the outside world and live there if she wants? I feel like the answer to that will change the circumstances a lot. And it will change how I talk about Elizabeth.
Chris says we should tell her the truth, but our goal should be to avoid the brunt of her anger.
She doesn’t look strong, but if she really is a goddess, we should assume her fighting power is on par with Elizabeth’s.
“Hn~…. This world~? Al hasn’t been coming by lately~. When was the last time we met~? I think it was when Yuini was born, and he brought her and his wife here~?”
Doesn’t that mean it was over a hundred years ago?”
“Do you get lonely, being here alone, Eliana?”
I ask something that isn’t related to anything.
“I’m generally sleeping~. I guess this time I woke up, because I felt someone’s presence for the first time in a while~.”
She also says that ever since she moved here, she hasn’t been outside, so she knows basically nothing about the outside world.
Alzahak used to come here and talk every once in a while, but they would just chat. And apparently she heard nothing about Elizabeth.
I decide to talk to her with that in mind.
I think it would be easier to understand if I started from when I got to this world. And so, I start from when I was summoned.
That should make it easier to understand where Elizabeth stood too.
Eliana stays quiet and listens.
Maybe she’s very empathetic, because when I tell her about things like Chris and Rurika meeting Sera, Casey being petrified, finding Eris, and other stuff like that, she cries.
And she’s angry when she hears about what Elesya did to Hikari, and the empire to Sera.
“So, Eliza~…”
And she’s sad at the end, when she hears about Elizabeth. She holds her mouth shut strongly, like she’s keeping something in.
“And so you came here to save the girl that died when Eliza possessed her~?”
“That’s it.”
“Can I see her condition~?”
I bring Mia out of the Item Box, and carefully put her on the ground.
“I can feel Al from this dagger~.”
“It was made with a fang from the dragon king.”
“I see~… Her time has stopped, and she’s in a state of suspended death~. Could an elixir bring her back~?”
She says, before she crosses her arms and goes quiet.
I hear her groan here and there, like she’s thinking.
“…That fruit is actually rare~. That’s the only one now~. So how about you take it, but with the condition that you have to make my wish come true~?”
“Well… is it going to be something unreasonable?”
“Hn~… Will it~?”
Eliana says after turning to Chris.
“I’m asking you, Chris~. But I think you two can help too~.”
“What is it?”
Asks Chris, and Eliana says she wants us to conquer a dungeon.
“Is there something in the dungeon?”
“…Something important~.”
She says as she turns to the big tree.
“So~? It sounds hard~. You can say no~. But then you can’t have that fruit~.”
I don’t even know what dungeon she’s talking about, so I can’t just answer.
But if we say no, we can’t get holy tree fruit.
Naoto said something about beating the Prekes dungeon. If that’s what Eliana is talking about, it’s fine, but…
And as I’m thinking…
“Very well, we accept.”
Chris responds.
Sera is surprised too, but doesn’t say anything.
And when I’m about to say she shouldn’t say that, she stops me with her eyes.
“Mia needs it, right? It’s all right, we have grandma and my sister too. We have a lot of reliable people to help us. I’m sure it will be fine.”
