We quickly get out of the dungeon, tell what’s going on to the people looking after Hikari and Rurika, and Yuini and the others too.
“There was a spirit goddess?”
“Is Hikari all right!?”
“I wanted to meet her too…”
We get three different responses from the three of them, but since we don’t have time, we need to get ready right away. I carry Rurika on my back, and Sera carries Hikari.
Rurika is heavier so… Well, it makes sense, since Hikari is younger and still developing. Rurika isn’t fat or anything. I feel like I need to emphasize that for her sake.
And as Eliana said, we don’t have any trouble jumping back to the tenth floor.
“Hm~? These two…~”
Eliana flies around them, and sometimes touches them with her hands like she’s examining them.
“Hn~… Can you wake up the girl in the state of suspended death first~? If you can’t, I can do something~.”
I feel like telling her to just do something if she can, but she says she doesn’t want to use too much of her strength.
And there’s something to her serious expression that makes me not want to push too much and ask.
Could that be related to the weakness showing in her magic energy?
I actually feel like it’s weaker than when we first got here.
In any case, I sit down, and start preparing the materials I need from the Item Box.
The Creation skill tells me that to make elixir, I need holy tree fruit, a good quality magic stone, and multiple healing items. I need potions that heal HP and MP, as well as an antidote that heals status conditions. And everything has to be of good quality too.
Those are some harsh conditions, but then again, how many people are even going to think about making elixir… I guess Ou, and the master of the alchemist guild in Majolica, Bozen.
“I need to focus, so don’t talk to me.”
I say to Eliana.
She’s looking at me with an excited expression, as I take out and start preparing all the items.
It definitely feels like she’s going to start talking if given the chance, so I let Chris and Sera look after her.
I only have one holy tree fruit, so I’m feeling pressured. This can’t fail.
How does this holy tree produce fruit anyway? What are the conditions? There’s only one, despite the fact that no one has come here in a long time, so there’s a chance that there won’t even be any more.
Or does Eliana eat them as snacks?
“Mu…~You’re thinking something rude~.”
She’s right on the mark, but I don’t let my serious expression break.
She looks cute, puffing her cheeks like that, and it makes me feel a little less tense. If that was on purpose, I’d have to say it was incredible.
I take out an EX mana potion too, for when I run out of MP, and look at the status panel.
I’d like to destroy the magic item I use as a mark for Transfer to get the lost MP back, but that would cause problems… The biggest of which, would be losing a means to get away quickly if necessary.
I can just do it if I really need that MP. It should work if I focus on it.
“I’m starting.”
I announce, and start focusing.
I activate the Creation skill, and start combining the necessary materials, with holy tree fruit at its core.
The big lump of magic energy starts to contract, and releasing light. I infuse it with magic energy while adding the superior species’ high quality magic stone, and the shine becomes gradually weaker. And eventually, I end up with a bottle with liquid inside.
Appraisal calls it elixir. There’s no mention of its quality, but is that because its effect doesn’t change based on quality?
“Are you done, Sora?”
“Yes, this is without a doubt elixir.”
It looks like I just have to designate a target to use it.
If it only worked if people drank it, it wouldn’t be called something that can bring people back to life.
And so, everything is ready. Now I just have to pull the god killing dagger from Mia, and use it.
I take a deep breath, and put my hand on the dagger. But then I stop.
Is this really going to bring her back? We’ve been pressing forward to get this elixir (not counting the big detour), but now that I have it, and it’s time to use it, I’m questioning if it can really bring someone back to life.
In my old world, death was irreversible. At best, there were people that could be brought back from the verge of death.
But Mia was stabbed with the god killing dagger in the heart. She’s dead. She was frozen in time right after death, thanks to Time Stop, but that doesn’t change the fact that her heart stopped completely.
Of course, unlike my old world, this is a world with magic. The rules and common sense are different.
But still, my common sense is asking deep within me. Can a dead person really be brought back?
