Walking in another world – Chapter 443 – Meeting again

“Oh my, are you Sora?”

There was a bit of trouble when we reached the Apostel house.

Ah, that’s right. I was wearing that mask back then.

The guard standing in front of the door called Rondot the butler, and I had to show him my merchant guild card.

But that was enough to prove my identity, and for us to be taken inside, where we’re greeted by Loux, Yor’s mother.

Loux looks at Hikari and the others, and at my hair. More specifically, at its color.

“I’m glad to see Mia is doing well. My husband was worried too. I guess it was also hard to send a letter.”

Loux hugs Mia, whose face turns red from the embarrassment.

“Ah, and these are Rurika and Chris, They’re Sera’s childhood friends, that we met again in Majolica.”

She seemed curious about them, so I introduce them.

They also introduce themselves, and Loux responds.

“So you came here just to see my husband?”

“We have to go to Majolica, so we thought to pass by here.”

“I see. Rondot had someone go call him, so make yourselves at home. Yuri should be back soon as well.”

Rurika and Chris ask Sera who’s Yuri, and she tells them it’s Yor’s little sister.

I’m a little conflicted about waiting here, because we need to look for an inn. And apparently Loux can read that on my face, because she responds with an amused tone.

“You can stay here tonight. I’m sure my husband wants to talk to Mia, and Yuri will also want to talk to Hikari.”

I check with everyone else, and we decide to take her up on her offer.

We’re not strapped for money, but saving on staying in an inn is still nice.

We’re taken to rooms by a maid (needless to say, I have one for myself), and rest as we wait for Dan and Yuri to come back.

Loux is looking out for us, because we just got here today. I’m not tired thanks to my skill, but the same doesn’t can’t be said for the others.

Not long after we’re taken to our rooms, we’re called. Yuri and Dan got home at the same time.

Mia and I go see Dan, and the others go see Yuri.

“Miss Mia! I’m so glad you’re safe. And… I’m so sorry.”

Dan rubs his chest with relief when he sees Mia. It must have been frustrating being one of the few people who knew about Mia, but being restricted and not being able to do much.

His cheeks look a little sunken compared to before, and he gives off the feeling that he’s tired.

Apparently he’s been dealing with what the pope did, and maybe the death of the goddess had some impact too. That’s just what I think, anyway.

Although the church only heard from her through oracles, and if anything, I think she was more closely connected to Elesya than the Holy Kingdom.

Then we tell Dan about our travels, and our plans going forward. We don’t tell him about what happened after we left the Republic of Eldo though. It’s best if those things aren’t known.

We don’t want him worried about Mia either. And there’s also the fact that the truth might shake the entire foundation of the church.

“I see… So you’re going to continue traveling, Miss Mia.”

Mia nods, and Dan bows, asking me to look after her.

“But that’s a shame. Things should settle down, with the demon king problem solved… No, it might still be busy because of Elesya and the empire.”

He says the truth about the demons’ hostility towards Elesya and the terrible things Elesya has done makes his head hurt.

“I’m sure Mia was being targeted due to being roped into all that.”

Says Dan. In reality, it was Adonis acting on his own, but it was to protect the demon king.

Conversely, Ou and Ignis wanted to keep her alive to kill the goddess.

“So you’re going to dungeons, but are you going to start with the Republic of Eldo?”

Yes, that is the closest dungeon from here. It would make sense to go there first.”

“No, we are planning to go to Majolica. We left it halfway last time.”

“Yes, because of Yor’s friend. Majolica… I could arrange for a wagon if you want.”

“…No thank you, we might go with some acquaintances for some of the way.”

We might meet up with Kotori and the others and travel part of the way with them.

“…Are those acquaintances a lot of people?”

Argo’s party has five, so with Kotori’s five, that’s ten.

“Ten people. With us, that would be sixteen.”

“…Hm. So you could do it with two wagons? Then I will arrange for them. Are they also going to Majolica?”

“No, they are going to Elesya.”

“Then they can travel by wagon until Loyet. Or are you going to the border as well? You can use the wagons until there too.”

Dan sounds all for it, so we accept the wagons in the end.

Maybe he feels guilty about Mia, and wants to accommodate us.

We want to get to Majolica as soon as possible, so it helps.

“But we need to ask them their plans too, so can you wait for a while?”

“Yes. And you can stay here while in the city. Ah, but Miss Mia, can you meet Regulus and Sigurd? They are also very worried.”

“Yes, I understand.”

Regulus was the head attendant of the saint, and Sigurd a guard hired by Dan that protected Mia from Adonis.

Then I contact Kotori, and tell her about going by wagon to Loyet.

She’s pretty happy to hear that, and Argo’s party is on board too.

And three days after reaching the Holy City, it’s time to leave Messer.

We didn’t leave right away because it took some time for Mia to meet Regulus and Sigurd, and so Rurika and Chris could see the city.
