Walking in another world – Chapter 452 – Mia is invincible?

Siphon’s party has already been to the twenty-eighth floor, so we’re continuing from there.

Although we also considered not going in so deep, to get used to it because we haven’t been here in a while.

“Well, leave it to us.”

With those encouraging words from Siphon, we head out from the twenty-eighth floor.

Last time we were here, various monsters appeared after traps were activated, but normally, this is populated by liches.

In my mind, liches are pretty strong monsters, but Siphon says that’s not the case.

“In fact, monsters without a physical body like ghosts, are the ones that are tough to beat. Especially since no one in our party knows Holy Magic, and the only one who can use magic at all is Yuno.”

And that’s why they buy a lot of things like holy water, and it adds a lot to their expenses.

But what about liches? I ask, and I’m told we can just hit them and break their magic stones.

I start out by using Map to look around the floor. Since we’re exploring a dungeon, I tell Siphon and the others about some of the skills I can use.

“I guess we’ll move forward…”

I tell everyone what I see on Map, and we start advancing through the dungeon.

Currently, I only see reactions of monsters on this floor, and quite a lot too. They accumulate when they aren’t hunted, so this floor might be one that’s not used by people a lot.

I’ve heard that the twenty-eighth floor is pretty deep in the dungeon, so not a lot of people come here to hunt.

The clan Guardian Sword was updating their floors one after the other, so I wonder how far they’ve gone at this point.

I guess we have to study this area again. We’re going to the thirtieth floor this time, so that’s all we looked into.

“But there aren’t any monsters. You made it sound like they were around here, Sora.”

Rurika says, so I look at Map. The monsters are moving.

“Yes, they’re moving too. They’re in a place pretty far from here.”

And then we continue moving while I keep an eye on Map, and I notice something odd.

“Are the monsters avoiding us?”

Yes, as we move, it’s like the monsters are moving away from us.

They would normally move towards us, but they’re doing the opposite.

We leave the regular route just to check, and sure enough…

“Is that true?”

It makes sense for Siphon to be suspicious, I can’t believe it either.

Two days pass, then three, and we don’t fight any monsters.

And on the fifth day, we see the staircase. And close to a hundred liches in front of it.

At a glance, it looks like they’re protecting the staircase, but… Am I imagining it, or are they shaking? Well, skeletons also rattle while they move, so is it a characteristic of undead types?

“Is that an ambush to protect the staircase?”

“Liches are pretty intelligent undead monsters, so maybe.”

Rurika whispers, and Siphon responds.

“Anyway, it’ll be tough to fight that many. All we can do is approach them while Yuno and Chris cover us with magic.”

Siphon says while sighing.

“Ah, hold on. I’ll bring reinforcements.”

We weren’t fighting monsters, so I didn’t summon the golems.

And Siphon and his party are pretty surprised to see me do it.

“Are you ready?”

I ask, and Siphon nods.

We fire ourselves up and move forward, and reach the staircase without much of a fight.

There are many bright magic stones on the ground. That’s proof that they’re high quality.

As for what exactly is going on, the liches just disappear when we get close.

Was all that shaking not because they were skeletons, but because they were afraid?

Undead monsters hate the living, and are stubborn with how they target them.

But there was not a shadow of that, as they disappeared without any sign that they would even attack us.

But then I look at Mia. We might need to check on another floor, but if I think about what would be the worst enemy of undead monsters, it would have to be Mia.

This didn’t happen the last time we were in the dungeon, so is it an effect of the godlike status change?

“Just what happened?”

“Yes, what did they show us here?”

Siphon and Jin look dazed.

But we collect the magic stones quickly, and keep heading to the thirtieth floor.

And sure enough, we don’t fight monsters on the twenty-ninth floor either.

The next day, we go to the twenty-first floor without her, and the skeletons there do attack us. It looks like it really is Mia.

We didn’t tell Mia we were going there, so she’d be really mad if she found out.

I mean, she’d tell us to stop, and would definitely want to come along, so…
