When I wake up in the morning and go to the dining room, I see Yuno cooking along with Elsa and the others.
She’s supposedly not good at it, but joined them because Mia invited her.
Since we’re all exploring the dungeon together, Goblin’s Grief is living with us. We had the empty rooms anyway, and there’s also the fact that a lot of people have been making their way to Majolica.
Adventurers from places like Elesya and the empire that accepted quests to be sent to the dark forest are looking for work, and a lot are picking dungeons.
I don’t know if it’s because the business with the demon king is over for now, but I hear there are less monsters roaming around too.
And I’ve heard from Siphon that the whole thing with the demon king is being treated as a big charade orchestrated by Elesya.
“Can I ask something?”
Siphon asks as we take it easy after eating.
“Why is that kid wearing a maid outfit?”
Hikari and Alto are exercising in front of us.
The maid outfit… Siphon’s right.
“He’s a boy, right?”
“Yes.”
Is all I can say. I can’t say why he’s wearing a maid outfit either.
I heard he wore it too while working in Will’s place. I’m sure no one there managed to stop… That person either.
“Well, if it doesn’t bother him, it’s fine, isn’t it? Maybe it’s part of the culture of this place?”
I don’t think that’s right, but I say that anyway. It isn’t, is it?
“I-I see…”
Siphon seemingly catches on, and doesn’t ask anymore.
Also, Alto isn’t exercising with Hikari just to be healthy or anything. He doesn’t want to be an adventurer either, but Hikari says he wants to support Elsa.
He’s been doing some basic training in Will’s mansion too.
According to the person I mentioned before…
‘Maids have to fight to protect their masters.’
Elsa has been receiving training too, and apparently she’s been improving quite a bit.
How far do maids in this world aim? Are the maids in Yor’s place all strong too?
When Hikari heard that, it piqued her interest and she did a few mock battles, and she says they were strong.
And that’s why Alto asked Hikari to teach him, to bridge that gap.
I don’t think he needs to try too hard, considering his age, but… I’d also feel bad about stopping him when he’s so proactive about it, so I’m leaving that to Hikari.
“Are you going to an armor shop today?”
“Yes, to check out the shields. And I want to stop by general stores to check out the prices of the potions, and maybe go around stalls.”
We haven’t strolled around Majolica yet, so we’re doing it today. And Elsa and Alto are coming along.
We take care of any housework left to do, and leave before noon. We’re leaving now because we’re planning to eat out.
Siphon’s party is staying back because they say they want to rest.
But… We really stand out when we walk around town.
The fact that everyone’s wearing regular clothes and not adventurer equipment has to do with it too, but it’s probably more because the male to female balance in our group is very skewed.
And since Elsa and Alto are wearing their maid outfits, it looks like a group of one guy and seven girls.
How would they be looking at me if Mia and the others were still wearing slave collars… Well, that happened before, but at least I was wearing a mask.
We told Elsa and Alto they didn’t have to wear maid outfits, but they insisted. But Mia also says it could be because they don’t have a lot of regular clothes.
And that’s why clothes for them are part of our shopping list.
We haven’t told them yet, because they’ll definitely say they don’t need them.
First, we stop by an armor shop as planned. We’re doing this because they would feel bad about picking clothes if we did it before taking care of the reason why we went out.
Come to think of it, when I first came to this world and had to buy equipment, I got all sorts of advice from an owner of a weapon shop.
I actually have things to ask this time too, but the place is busier than I expected.
Not to mention the looks of suspicion being pointed at our group of people wearing regular clothes and maid outfits.
“Before, I just looked at big ones that did a good job protecting the front, but now I want to take my time and check more shields.”
“Even we could use a small one like this.”
“And over in that shelf are magic shields… And a lot of people are checking them.”
Chris and Mia are checking out the shields with me.
“But wouldn’t it be better to use one you made, Sora?”
“Yes, that’s true.”
Maybe they’re right. I could collect materials in the dungeon and use the Creation skill.
But the ones I’d make would display their power by using magic energy.
In the end, I buy one that’s smaller than the one I’ve been using. This is more suited to attach to my arm than actually holding.
“Next, a general store… Or do you want to go to the stalls?”
It’s almost lunch time, so we go around the stalls first.
