“A-are you sure that’s all right?”
Elsa is flustered to the point of being funny.
Hikari and Alto are in front of her, stuffing their mouths with meat skewers that each have three big pieces of meat.
Hikari can eat those no problem, but I don’t know about Alto either.
But it doesn’t look like he minds it, as he follows Hikari with his eyes while she orders more.
“Do you want some too, Elsa?”
Asks Hikari, and Elsa shakes her head so fast that I fear it might snap off.
“Kids that eat grow. Alto’s small, so he should eat a lot and get bigger.”
Says Hikari, and Alto nods with his mouth full. They kind of look like a master and a pupil that follows her teachings.
Hikari looks satisfied with Alto’s reaction, and bites into her skewer again.
“Well, just don’t force yourself. And what are you going to eat, Elsa?”
This is a stall in front of the adventurer guild, so it has a lot of hearty food.
We’re eating here because we have to pick up the orc meat we asked the guild to take apart.
“Then, hum, soup.”
Elsa picks vegetable soup, but it’s vegetable soup in name only. It has large chunks of meat scattered all over.
Well, at least they’re smaller than the ones Hikari is eating.
Chris and Mia order the same, and I eat meat and vegetables stuffed between slices of bread, like a sandwich.
Then we go to general stores, and I see that it isn’t just stuff like medicinal herbs that’s gone up in price because of the influx of people, things like holy water have too.
Apparently there have been more adventurers exploring floors with undead monsters lately.
Holy water is usually made by the church, so it’s always limited in supply. It’s also possible to purify and refine water with Holy Magic skills, but it’s rare for adventurers to make it themselves because the success rate is low and it takes time. And it would be more effective to just use those skills to infuse a holy attribute.
But medicinal plants have gone up… It makes me want to go to the fifth floor and pick some.
The twenty-fifth floor’s forest was full of poisonous plants, so I couldn’t pick normal medicinal plants there, but apparently the thirty-fifth floor is a special field that’s a forest again, so can I pick there?
Then we go to a clothing store as planned, and buy clothes for everyone.
To be more precise, the girls and Alto all have fun picking clothes. Elsa is reserved at first, but it looks like she was also interested in the first place, because that disappears while Mia and the others make her try different things.
In fact, it’s incredible how full of energy she is despite how much stuff they make her try on. And her smile while she has fun picking clothes suits a girl her age better than when she’s briskly doing house work. But that’s like her job, so there’s nothing that can be done there.
After we’re done shopping, we stop by a place we heard about from Leila and the others.
It’s a sweets shop that’s been popular lately, and it’s full of people. I see some people wearing uniforms from the Magius Magic Academy here and there too.
Sweets are pretty expensive in this world, so are they spending money they made as adventurers? Or maybe they love sweets so much that they don’t mind the prices.
“A-are you sure?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
“That’s right. You can’t come all the way here and get all reserved.”
“Yes. And we need to bring some for Yuno too.”
Elsa looks restless in front of a table with different cakes lined up, as Hikari, Mia, and Rurika struggle to decide what they’re having.
I get just one, and take it easy eating with Alto.
I feel like the girls each make three cakes disappear on their own in the time it takes us to eat one, but I’m probably just imagining it.
I match the sweetness with a drink that’s like brown tea, and watch them as they enjoy themselves.
“You can eat what you want too, Alto.”
I say, and he reaches for his third cake.
And like Rurika said before, we buy a lot more to take home with us. Ah yes, they’re going in the Item Box.
This place really seems popular, and I don’t know when we’ll come here again. In fact, when we leave, there are even more people lining up in front of the store than before.
It’s hard to preserve food in this world, so they don’t really do take out. Even in stalls, it’s customary to eat there. That also means the person taking our order was surprised when I bought so much.
Yuno looks really happy when we serve cake after dinner. Of course, the girls all eat again, but stop at one because it’s nighttime.
