During a day when we’re looking into materials about the thirty-fifth floor, Leila drops by to visit.
“Be a guide for the fifth and fifteenth floors?”
“Exactly. Aren’t you great at medicinal herb picking and ore mining? What I am saying, is that you could teach students of the academy.”
No, I just have Appraisal, I’m not good at it or anything…
Maybe I’d have to ask Chris, but if time permits, I could also go to the guild’s reference room and review some things… No, I still have medicinal herbs in the Item Box, so I’m sure it would be better to study by looking at actual examples.
There are no photographs or anything in the materials people use to study in this world, it’s all hand drawn. That means it can be difficult to understand.
Those are made by experts, but still, there might be some small differences depending on who did it. And the idea of all medicinal herbs having the same exact characteristics is dubious in the first place.
According to Leila, the levels of the students of the academy have been going up with each passing year, so they’ve been testing some things so they can work on the shallower floors. That’s in part because of what happened with Leila and her party too.
And that means working on the fifth and fifteenth floor.
The academy itself can buy medicinal herbs, and they can be used for the students learning how to make potions to practice. Those potions are then sold cheaply to students.
As for mining ore, the goal is to escort miners, and for other students to learn how to mine.
But doesn’t that mean I don’t really have much to do with the fifteenth floor? Leila says that’s not the case.
By the way, she also tells me they want me to bring a lot of food, so could it be that I’m actually being called there as a chef?
“It’s fine, isn’t it? Exploring the dungeon is important, but so is taking a break.”
“I agree. And we will need potions going forward, so it would be a good idea if we all went to pick them. Right, Hikari?”
“Yes. And pick fruit and berries while we’re at it.”
Say Siphon, followed by Mia and Hikari.”
But Siphon and his party have other things to do, so it will just be us.
When I tell Leila my decision after speaking with the others, she looks happy, and leaves.

“Hum, Sora, can we talk?”
That night, Chris comes to me with a troubled expression on her face.
Apparently she spoke to Morrigan and Suiren, who are asking me to bring people from Eril who want to come to Majolica.
“Why that again?”
“It seems there are quite a few people who have fought in the dark forest and want to make use of their fighting expertise. And when they heard about us going to the dungeon, they were interested.”
“And some of the kids want to go to the magic academy too.”
Says Sera, who also heard them talk.
“And, you know, I think it’d be good for Elsa and Alto too. I don’t know if they’ll like it, but we’d feel more reassured if they lived with people we know.”
“…So, did they say how many people want to come here?”
I ask after hearing Rurika.
This house is big compared to a regular home, but we can’t have even more people living here.
“A few families, so… About thirty people.”
“And are they looking for a place to live?”
“They said it could be a shared place. They’d use that as a base, and buy their own places after they start making money.”
Then do we need to prepare for that too…
I feel like we suddenly have too much to do, but is it really okay for them to decide that without actually seeing anything?
“They say they don’t really care as long as they have places to eat and sleep.”
Says Chris. Those are pretty loose conditions. Are they that not greedy…
Leila said she would come tell us their plans tomorrow, but should we let someone else handle that and go to the merchant guild to look for a house?
We talk about someone staying here, and Siphon and Yuno say they’ll do that. They’re doing that so we can all go out together. They even tell us to take Elsa and Alto too.
But then I ask if their leader doesn’t have to go to whatever it is they have to do.
“Jin can handle it. And we don’t want to make things awkward by leaving a guy here, in case she comes by herself.”
Says Siphon. He really is thoughtful.
Generally speaking, Casey would tag along, but today Leila came by herself because they’re busy with a few things in the academy.
“Thank you then. Hikari, can you tell Elsa and Alto we’re going out tomorrow? And tell them to wear the clothes we bought, not the maid outfits.”
Hikari nods, and goes to their room.
