Once we reach the fortieth floor, we leave the dungeon.
We weren’t really meant to get so far this time in the first place, so we haven’t really looked into the monsters that appear here.
We more or less know what monsters they are, but we didn’t check how they attack and stuff like that.
I think we’ll be fine after all the hardships we’ve overcome, but still, we can’t afford to not be careful in a boss room.
Also, the monsters that appear on the floor are a gigantes and giant guards, so the gigantes commands the giant guards.
Looking into it more, I see that the thing to watch out for the most is the gigantes’ special skill. When enough giant guards are taken down, it uses this skill to summon more.
There are always ten giant guards, and it summons more when there are three or less. But it also summons them when there are more than three if, for example, we cut them down to five and ten minutes pass. There’s a mechanism that makes it so it summons them after a set time depending on how many giant guards went down.
There’s also a cooldown time for when it can summon them again, so it can’t use that skill over and over.
This sort of thing is hard to test, but as more parties challenge this boss room, more information gets recorded. These materials actually have a note saying it’s provisional information.
“I think we should take out all the minions, and then take the boss down in one go.”
“No, I think we need a proper strategy.”
Jin says to Siphon with an exasperated tone.
We settle on Chris using her spirit magic to bring their numbers down to less than three. Then after it summons more, we’ll split into one group with a strong defense centered around Geitz that fights the giant guards, and another that fights gigantes.
Gigantes has a high resistance against physical attacks and magic, and even elemental magic doesn’t work too well, other than the light element. That means the group fighting it will be composed of me at its core, with Sera, Rurika, and Orga.
Hikari will be going around attacking giant guards, to dull their movements with her paralysis effect.
“Then I want to get arrows, but I want Orga to pick them. It’s best if it’s someone that knows his stuff.”
Arrows’ weight changes with their materials.
As for throwing weapons, Sera is Sera, and Hikari is Hikari, so they both pick what they want for themselves.
And so, the next day is spent preparing, but I also stop by Hiriluk’s place to see how they’re doing. They’re in the dungeon though, so the only ones home are women and children.
Elsa and Alto have been coming here frequently while we were in the dungeon, so they’ve become friends with the other kids. The girls that know what happened with them seem concerned about them too.
Anyway, we’re going to be spending three days preparing and resting, so we go around town with Elsa and the others and stop by various places.
I gain experience while walking, and I use the Magic Energy Infusion skill to level it up because I want to raise it to a level where it’s actually usable, but it’s not going to happen so soon.
I could probably do it by drinking mana potions, but Mia and Chris would get mad and stop me if I did.
Instead, I’m carrying the others’ mithril weapons, and keeping them in the Item Box after infusing them with magic energy.
That means they should hold that magic energy for about two hours if I give the weapons back after we enter the dungeon. I’ve checked how much they lose magic energy after I infused them, so there’s no mistaking it.
I also don’t forget to attach a light element to Sera and Rurika’s weapons. But when I do that to a hundred of Orga’s arrows, his face twitches. Does he think it means that I’m telling him to make sure to fire a hundred arrows?
“I think people get more nervous than usual in boss rooms, but we’ll be fine if we fight like we always do. Also, just checking one last time, first Chris will attack to lower their numbers, and then it’ll summon more. And after we take down some more again, Sora’s group will take the boss down. Is that right?”
“Yes. And if the group fighting the giant guards can afford it, support Sora and the others. You can give instructions while surveying the situation, Siphon.”
Jin responds to Siphon, and no one objects.
