Walking in another world – Chapter 474 – Progress

After defeating the boss, we go back to the surface and sell materials to the guild. Actually, it’s just the gigantes’ eyes. I don’t know exactly why they want them, but apparently it’s going to research.

I’m standing a little further away by myself, watching the report and sale.

Everyone else is registered as adventurers, so they’re getting their dungeon cards updated and getting points. Rurika and the others don’t seem to really care about getting a high rank, but they’re still going up to B rank.

They say that further than that becomes a pain because being a high rank adventurer comes with various obligations.

“Is that you Sora? Are you coming back from the dungeon?”

While I’m lost in thought, I hear a voice calling out to me. And when I turn around, I see people from the clan Guardian Sword, with Ash in front.

The other members then leave Ash and go to the reception desk.

“We just got back, Did you just come back too?”

“Yes. I hear you’ve gone pretty far, but how far?”

It sounds like the members of Guardian Sword exploring the dungeon from the thirty-fifth floor onward have been telling him about what we’ve been doing.

We’ve actually seen groups with their clan’s insignia.

I tell him the truth, that we just got through the fortieth floor’s boss room. We’re selling the materials to the guild, so all he had to do was ask them anyway, and he’d know we defeated the boss.

But Ash looks very surprised to hear that. Then he talks about their activities on the forty-first floor, but Mia and the others come back, and he goes over to the reception desk where they were.

“He’s from Guardian Sword, right?”

“Yes, he says he just got back from the forty-first floor. Are you ready to leave?”

After I respond to Mia, we head straight home.

It didn’t take us a lot of time to defeat the boss, so this time we were in the dungeon for a very short amount of time.

Still, we challenged a new boss, so that takes a toll on us both physically and mentally. I see some exhaustion on everyone’s faces too.

That’s why no one objects, and we decide to take it easy for five days.

◇ ◇ ◇

While we rest, the big clans are making moves in the dungeon.

Part of that is because of us. News that a nameless party that’s not even affiliated with a clan beat the fortieth floor traveled fast.

And when people in the front lines heard about it, they started aiming for the forty-second floor.

Guardian Sword is in front, with other clans following.

Also, apparently we’ve come to be known among these big clans exploring the lower floors. There’s even talks of recruiting us. But they also say that if they tried that, it would lead to fights between clans, so they’re refraining from making contact unless we go to them on our own.

“Well, I just hope they’re not overdoing it.”

Siphon sounds worried about it after returning from the guild.

I agree, it would be best not to be in such a rush to reach the forty-second floor, but it’s their decision, so the result is their responsibility.

But there are effects felt elsewhere too, like the prices of return stones more than doubling, and more people wanting to go to boss rooms. Especially on the tenth and twentieth floors.

In the tenth floor in particular, people have been challenging the boss more with small but strong parties, and the guild employees have been having trouble sorting it all out.

“They’re mostly advancing one floor at a time, registering there and using a return stone. And they have to be ready for anything.”

Says Siphon.

We also have return stones from challenging boss rooms, and we might be getting to that point where we could consider using a return stone to come back after reaching a new floor.

This isn’t just because the floors get bigger, but also because there’s no information about the next floors.

I can store things like food and healing items in the Item Box, so that’s not a problem, but since we don’t know what monsters appear, we might need specific items to deal with them.

“Well, I think we’ll be fine unless something crazy happens.”

“…We do have a good balance. We don’t have to worry about undead monsters because of Mia, and we can deal with both monsters that resist physical attacks, and magic.”

Says Siphon, and I start talking about my party.

“And most importantly, you.”

He says with a kind of exasperated tone.

Thanks for the update, also haven’t seen Sora use his gun for a while, maybe the author has forgotten about it.
