“Eh, so you’re Elsa and Alto. I’ve heard about you. Have these three been causing you trouble?”
Asks Morrigan, and Eris giggles.
“N-no. They have been teaching us a lot. And cooking with us all the time.”
Elsa sounds nervous, and Alto is nodding while hiding behind her.
“Really? Then please continue to look after them.”
Sera awkwardly turns away when the subject of cooking is brought up, but doesn’t say anything.
Well, that’s not really something she’s good at, but she also helps with other things, so it balances itself out.
I don’t think she needs to feel so awkward.
Here in Nahal, it’s mostly Eris who takes the initiative to lead us around.
We’ve been here a few times, but I feel like it changes a lot every time we come here. I’ve also heard that its population is slowly increasing.
“It feels odd.”
Says Shizune while looking all around the town.
“We never really walked around towns like this, so it’s new for me. It’s like I’m traveling abroad.”
Shizune and the others mostly stayed in the castle, and when they went outside, most of the time it was to fight monsters and level up.
They stayed in a different town for a while when they were exploring the dungeon in Prekes, but they didn’t get to walk around freely like this. They stayed in a luxurious inn, and other than that, they just lived in the dungeon.
Also, they pretty much had no contact with people other than the knights that accompanied them. And the dungeon was probably off-limits to other people when they were there.
Elesya was probably worried about them learning about this world from other people.
“Majolica is a nice place too. You could have Elsa and Alto show you around. You might find a lot of inconveniences in your daily life, but it’s not bad once you get used to it.”
And there’s a lot of good food.
“…Yes. I’ll do that.”
She says, and then she goes to Elsa and Alto and enjoys her stroll through town.
We buy things at a stall and eat, and when she sees items she’s never seen before, she listens to us explaining them.
We end up staying in Nahal for three days. We were actually planning to travel a little more, like going to the capital of the Republic of Eldo, Flamen, but we go back to Majolica.
Shizune is experiencing a big change in her environment, but I think what’s getting to her the most is traveling by wagon. Unlike us, who are used to it, the exhaustion is making itself felt on her.
“We can always go again. We have plenty of time.”
Says Hikari, and Elsa and Alto nod.
“Ou, you’re back?”
When we return to Majolica, we go to the room where people usually hang out, and see Siphon and the others.
“Are you really done?”
He asks, and we explain why we came back.
“Well, traveling can be rough when you’re not used to it. And more importantly…”
“Ah, this is Shizune. She’s planning to work here for a while.”
“I see. Nice to meet you.”
Then Elsa and Alto prepare a room for Shizune before relaxing, and Siphon and his party tell us how Majolica’s been in our absence.
Apparently there have been big moves in terms of conquering the dungeon. There has been a lot of talk about big clans that have been competing all this time now working together.
“And I guess it all started with us reaching the forty-fifth floor.”
He says that newcomers like us reaching the front line made the veterans throw away their pride and join forces.
“I think only Guardian Sword is still going at it alone.”
Clans joining forces so they can conquer the dungeon with their best members does sound convenient. But their coordination is bound to suffer.
We’re talking about people fighting on the lower floors of the dungeon, so there’s more than a good chance they can work together, but still, there have to be things a hastily put together team can’t compensate for.
Siphon says that’s why Guardian Sword opted out.
“What now? Our equipment should be ready soon.”
“…We’ll take Shizune around, and check our disposable items.”
“I see… But what is it about you getting another woman with you?”
Siphon says at the end.
Yes, we did bring another woman with us, but it’s not like Shizune is… Like that.
