Today Elsa, Alto, and Shizune are going to Leila’s place, so we’re doing the final preparations to go back to the dungeon. Mostly wearing and checking the equipment we bought to protect ourselves against the cold.
We spent some money to buy clothes that are warm but are made up of thin material, but they’re still thicker than what we normally wear.
Still, I’m thinking about making items based on my experiences in Altair’s dungeon. My first idea is to make heat pads, but I think something that retains heat in gloves and socks is better.
I knew I could make it with Creation, but the problem was that they wouldn’t retain heat for long. But now I have the Magic Energy Infusion skill.
It’s basically just something that retains heat by being infused with magic energy, so everyone in our party except Sera should be able to handle it on their own.
Sera should be able to use it too, but her low magic energy means she probably can’t use it for long.
So let’s make those gloves and socks. I’m using monster hide as materials, and magic stones. The hide itself is strong and flexible, and the warmth and time they retain the heat is decided by the quality of the magic stone.
“I guess anything’s possible at this point.”
Is what Siphon says when I hand them to him.
“I think I already told you what we know about the dungeon, but frost giants appear there. Their weakness is fire magic, but…”
Frost giants are giants that use ice magic, so they can be trouble because their magic is pretty strong in a cold environment.
Conversely, that environment weakens fire magic, so we should probably not use it even though it’s their weakness.
“Magic users like you should probably stick to wind and earth, but they have high magic resistance anyway. But they also have tough skin, so I guess we’ll see how it goes once we actually fight them.”
According to what I’ve heard, the forty-fifth floor is big but doesn’t have a lot of monsters, so we might even get lucky and not have to fight.
“Walking through that blizzard will probably be tougher than fighting the monsters…”
Is the conclusion Siphon reached after collecting information about that floor.
“Especially at night. I hear it gets pretty cold.”
“I have a plan, so it should be fine.”
I’m going to make a snow hut. And I’m going to use Map, Presence Detection, and the golems to watch out for monsters.
With all of this, I can check what’s outside from inside the snow hut. But I haven’t been using it much, so today when I go to sleep, I’ll summon golems in my room to raise the skill’s proficiency.
“We’re back.”
I hear Elsa say with a bright tone, followed by Alto. But Shizune is nowhere to be found.
Alto also notices this, so he goes back and pulls Shizune by the hand.
And, well, she’s dressed in a full maid outfit.
She’s embarrassed, but she walked all the way here dressed like that, right?
I ask her, and…
“I-I wore a robe on the way.”
And then she turns away.
“I don’t think it looks weird or anything.”
I say, and she looks at me like she doesn’t believe it, but her perplexed face turns red when Siphon and the others tell her it suits her.
She thinks of maids as people in maid cafes or cosplayers, but in this world, it’s normal for nobles and other wealthy people to hire maids.
Although it still can’t be said to be a very common thing.
But still, since Siphon’s party is used to seeing Elsa and Alto, they don’t really react to seeing her in a maid outfit. And people who live around here are probably used to seeing them too.
I know they’re well liked because people see them working hard. I don’t know how they feel about us, the ones making them work, but no one has said anything bad.
Or maybe Elsa has explained how they came to be maids, and how they’re lives are like this now because of us.
Also, I assume no one will try anything with them because our exploits in the dungeon stand out. Only people who are really confident in their strength or complete idiots would pick fights with the ones in the front line of the dungeon.
There were people hitting on Mia and the others at first, but that doesn’t really happen anymore.
Well, they’re cute girls, so there are always some who try to approach them, only to be crushed, but no one’s that stubborn about it.
I explain all this to Shizune.
“Anyway, follow Elsa and Alto and learn what they do. I doubt you’ll get tangled up with any weird people if you do that.”
I say, but that’s not really to protect her. It’s more like to protect those people.
From a level point of view, Shizune is probably stronger if there was a fight, but from what I heard from Kotori and the others, she might create a sea of flames if she uses magic.
That’s why I make sure to really hammer home that she shouldn’t use magic in town.
