Walking in another world – Chapter 488 – Majolica’s dungeon – 45F – Part one

After going down to the dungeon, I activate Map again.

“How does it look?”

Siphon asks right away, because he knows what I’m doing.

“I think we can just walk for the time being.”

I don’t see any reactions nearby. At the very least, I don’t think we’ll make contact with anything today.

This means we can focus on walking on the snow.

We still have to save some attention for monsters though, because the ones that spawn in dungeons can just spawn suddenly. I doubt it will happen close to us in an area this big, but the chance is higher than zero. That said, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t happen right next to us.

“Your items are really helping keep me warm.”

“They’ll use a lot of magic energy when it’s this cold, so say something when they start to lose warmth.”

I checked it at home, and they retain warmth for eight hours.

We check our equipment one more time, and move out.

We’ve been in Altair’s dungeon and crossed the snowy mountain to get to the Dragon Kingdom, but Siphon’s party has trouble at first because they’ve never walked on this much snow.

“I’ve seen snow, but I didn’t have to work, so I didn’t go outside.”

“Yes, you spent the whole day drinking.”

Says Yuno to Siphon, with a smile on her face.

Her eyes aren’t smiling though.

Jin and the others don’t want to get involved, so they just keep walking silently and watch their step.

But they all get the hang of it after an hour, and their step is more confident compared to the start.

We’re also lucky, because the day we came here just so happens to be the day when the blizzard stops.

“It’s almost noon. How about we stop for lunch?”

This time, I make walls to block the wind, and take out tree stumps from the item Box to serve as chairs.

“Uu, it really warms the body.”

Says Siphon, and everyone nods.

We just have sandwiches and soup for lunch, and after a small break, I use Magic Energy Infusion on Siphon and the others and we keep walking.

The weather is good when we get moving again, but it gets progressively worse as it gets closer to nighttime.

At first it’s just the wind getting stronger, but then clouds cover the sun, and it starts snowing.

The temperature drops quickly, and as the snow starts piling up more, a blizzard starts.

“This is rough.”

We decide we can’t keep going like this, and that we should call it for the day.

I make four walls like I did during lunchtime, and a snow hut. The walls are there to block the wind.

“Is this the snow hut you were talking about?”

Siphon and the others look puzzled as they get inside, and the warmth surprises them.

It’s warm, but I’m sure they aren’t really seeing that much of a difference, because the wind is being blocked.

I lay down a mat for everyone to sit, and get a fire ready.

“Hey hey, isn’t this going to melt it?”

He’s worried, but it’s fine.

“I strengthened it with magic energy, so it’s fine.”

We have time, so how about cooking?

I ask Mia and the others, and they agree, so I take out ingredients.

I leave that to them, and move on to other things like strengthening the walls by infusing them with magic energy and summoning the golems to guard us.

And then Siphon and the other guys from his party go outside and exercise.

“Well, we’re checking if we can move in the blizzard. And we’re bored.”

I guess if they’re not cooking, all they could do was check their equipment.

I end up going with them, and I definitely feel like my movements aren’t as sharp… We have to find a way to fight with as little movement as possible.

I think the best would be to have a side that focuses on blocking attacks and one that attacks, and to keep fights short.

We keep exercising and talking about this, until Rurika comes out and tells us the food is ready. It didn’t feel to me like so much time passed. Time flies when your mind is focused on something.

Then we eat, and talk about our thoughts on moving during the blizzard, and Hikari tries to go outside, but we stop her.

It’s completely dark at this point.

Watching the snow fly in the darkness is nice, and we’d be able to see it with lanterns, but that would make it easier for monsters to find us.

Not that there are any nearby, but still.

“Should we take turns keeping watch?”

“I fortified this around us, but we don’t know how strong frost giants are or if it will hold against their attacks, so I think we need to keep watch.”

Even if they’re not close, they could attack from a distance with magic.

But despite our concerns, morning comes without any issues.
