I’m replicating a god killing dagger, and I need to picture it clearly and infuse magic energy.
I can use MP Conversion when necessary, but just as I’m getting ready to do it, Mia appears.
“Don’t you have to look after them?”
“There’s nothing over there the titan can throw from a distance, and Chris is there too. And you can focus more easily if I’m here, right?”
Mia means that I can focus if she protects me with a shield.
Mia’s magic energy went off the charts when she became ‘godlike’, so I’m sure she can block an attack with a shield if it does come.
She can’t keep it active for a long time, but she should be able to hold it long enough for me to finish replicating.
Not to mention that Geitz and the others are fiercely fighting to keep the titan’s attention away from me.
I leave defense to Mia, and focus. I feel a bit bad about replicating the dagger that stabbed Mia right next to her, but I need it to defeat the titan.
“Hikari, the replicated weapon won’t hold for long, so we need to rush the titan right after I’m done.”
I say, and Hikari nods strongly.
I take a deep breath, and picture it. I was the one who made it to begin with, so it’s not that hard to picture it.
Now I need to infuse magic energy as it’s done.
By checking my stats, I can see my MP rapidly dropping, and when it’s just about to run out, I use a skill to replenish it.
And that gives me a god killing dagger.
But I don’t feel well. My status screen shows I have MP, but I feel the same languid feeling I get when it runs out.
Still, we’re almost there. This is the decisive moment, so I don’t have time to rest.
“Hikari, I’ll cover you, so please do it. And…”
We’re about to move out, and Mia casts support magic on us and the people fighting on the front line.
The languid feeling lessens, and when Siphon and the others see us returning to the battle, they move too.
Jin looks at what Hikari is holding, and even though he doesn’t know what it is, he quickly realizes that she’s holding the key to this problem.
I can hear him tell Jake and the others. No wonder he’s Siphon’s watcher. His awareness is perfect.
Geitz blocks an attack, and everyone attacks in waves to draw the titan’s attention and make it easier for Hikari.
The titan unleashes a fierce attack that could blow us away, but I stop its arm with my shield.
Even the titan stops for a moment after being caught off guard by an attack being blocked by what seems like an invisible wall.
Then Sera, Siphon, and Gabin all slash from the sides, and keep attacking it.
These fierce attacks can’t overtake the monster’s regenerative ability, but they succeed in stopping it, as it decides it’s time to defend.
Siphon and the others keep attacking, sometimes being blocked and flung back. Mia immediately casts Heal on anyone that’s flung back
The titan’s attention is clearly focused on the front, but Geitz, shield users of Guardian Sword, and I all use Provoke to attract its attention.
And in the middle of all that, something sneaks into its unguarded back. Hikari.
The titan’s attention is completely off Hikari, so it doesn’t even notice her about to attack.
She jumps from rubble, and stabs it in the back. That’s where I feel the strongest magic energy through Magic Energy Detection. It’s probably where its heart, its magic stone, is.
It’s protected by thick armor, but the god killing dagger easily pierces it.
The titan screams and struggles, but it’s too late. The dagger doesn’t reach the magic stone because of how thick the titan’s body is… But I expected that.
Hikari plunges the dagger as deep as she can, and infuses magic energy into it before letting go and stepping away.
“Get away!”
Everyone does as Hikari says, and as if waiting for it, the god killing dagger bursts.
It’s not a big explosion, but it carves the titan’s back, and it falls before us without life in its eyes.
The earth rumbles when it hits the ground, and it doesn’t move again.
We look at it for a bit, but then…
‘Dungeon cleared’
I hear in my head.
I’m surprised, but apparently everyone heard it.
“We did it…”
“Yes, we conquered the dungeon!”
Some are just happy, some crumple to the ground, and some cry, but I collect the titan before it disappears into the dungeon.
I think we need to investigate this body that had a lot of secrets, like canceling magic. It should be useful for the next people that come to beat it.
As things stand, sorcerers have no chance.
“How do we leave?”
“According to records from other dungeons, a gate should appear.”
I ask, and just as Jake answers, a gate appears in the middle.
“Let’s talk more after we leave.”
He says, and no one objects, but we still have things to do.
After Guardian Sword and Siphon’s party leave, Chris has to use the divine power granted to her by Eliana.
This is what I think, as I follow the others to the gate with light steps.
