The sun is setting by the time we’re done in the conference room.
And when we leave the guild, the square in front of it is pretty rowdy. There are more stalls than usual, and a lot of people.
“Ah, people are celebrating the conquest of the dungeon.”
Says the owner of one of the stalls, who we know.
Also, Leila’s father Will, the feudal lord, put up the money, so everyone is eating for free.
That explains why there are so many people.
I see people wearing uniforms of the Magius magic academy too, and small children whose job it is to carry things.
“I’m hungry.”
Says Hikari while pulling my sleeve.
That boss fight took a long time, and it was followed by us reporting to the guild, so we haven’t eaten.
“Can you hold on a little longer? I want to bring Elsa and Alto.”
“…Yes, that’s fine.”
Hikari nods.
“I know. I’ll go get them, and you can all go get food. How about that?”
“Then I’ll go too. People will start stuff with you if you’re alone.”
I don’t want to imagine that being the case, but I accept Sera’s offer.
We decide to meet again in the adventurer guild, and Sera and I leave for the time being.
Siphon is telling Yuno he wants to drink, but I think it would be fine just for today. But I don’t say it.
We get home, explain everything, and go back with Elsa, Alto, and Shizune. And when we reach the square again, there’s something that looks like a stage built in the center, with some of Guardian Sword’s members like Ash, and Goblin’s Grief standing on it.
Apparently they’re talking about the boss fight.
When people applaud and Siphon raises his hand, I see he’s holding a mug. There’s definitely alcohol in there.
We enter the guild, and see the tavern is filled with people too. The place where adventurers would usually line up is now occupied with simple tables.
And people sitting in one area wave at us.
It’s the others, along with the three remaining members of Goblin’s Grief… And the five girls of Bloody Rose.
“Congratulations master.”
Says Yor as we sit down, and I thank her.
Elsa and the others also sit down, and we don’t waste time toasting and eating.
They also tell me that Siphon and Jin left because people were dying to hear about the boss.
They haven’t been in Majolica for long, so they were going to leave that to Guardian Sword, but apparently someone had to go, so others knew Guardian Sword wasn’t alone.
And since it was decided Siphon would go, Jin also went as his handler of sorts.
Siphon wasn’t too happy about that, but went after Yuno gave him permission to drink.
“He’s not good with that sort of thing.”
She says, and Chris nods.
A lot of people are talking to us in the guild too. I’m surprised that most of them are congratulating us, but I guess strength is everything for adventurers.
I’m sure the rival allied clan is frustrated, but they also want information about the boss. They bring food as a bribe of sorts, but that’s free anyway, you know? Not that I actually say that.
Actually, when I was entering the guild, I saw there were big lines to the stalls. And some of the food they brought is from the tavern, so it grabs Hikari’s attention.
We typically eat at stalls, but we’ve never come to this tavern in the guild.
Hikari bites into meat, and Alto copies her. His mouth gets dirty, but Shizune cleans it.
It feels like she’s looking after the kids so much that she isn’t eating a lot, but she’s happy with that, so I guess I’ll leave her be.
Actually, it’s more like she’s ecstatic about feeding them, so a tragedy might happen if I bother her.
“Good job today, everyone.”
Says Reese while everyone has fun.
Bloody Rose and other adventures are surprised when the guildmaster makes a sudden appearance.
Well, the guildmaster is busy, and most people don’t know we know each other. They probably think she’s just saying hi because of our contributions to beating the fiftieth floor.
“Are you going to eat too, Reese?”
“Yes, I’ll have some.”
Reese says to Chris.
She starts chatting while she eats, but once she’s done, she returns to the conference room. And she takes some guild employees with her.
I guess they have a lot to do, and were just taking a break.
This festival is continuing late into the night, but Elsa and Alto are getting sleepy, so we go home.
The other members of Goblin’s Grief are worried about Siphon, so they say they’re going to stay a while longer, and say goodbye to us.
