After coming out of the dungeon, we tell Siphon and the others we’re headed to the Beast Kingdom.
When I say that Argo and the others are going too, they start talking about heading there as well.
Apparently while we were out, merchants came over to the house.
Then we talk about Elsa and Alto, and decide that the three of them, Shizune included, should come with us to the Beast Kingdom.
“We need to stop by Altair first, so we won’t go straight there, but…”
“You’re always busy. We’ll get wagons for now. Two will do, right?”
“Yes, thanks. The guildmaster said she’d help if we needed anything, so you can talk to her.”
Siphon looks exasperated about that, but Reese did say it.
Then we spend the rest of the day resting, and Transfer to Altair the next morning. Just my party.
We tell the gatekeeper why we’re here, and it doesn’t take long for us to be let inside.
It looks like Yuini and the others are busy, so Dutina takes us to the dungeon, and we go to the tenth floor.
‘Feel… Eliana.’
The moment we enter the tenth floor, Calotos comes out of the staff and flies towards the holy tree, with Kaina behind him.
We walk towards it normally, and when we get there we see Eliana, Kaina… And what I’m guessing is Calotos.
I say that because it’s not a ball of light, it’s a man.
“Calotos… Right?”
I don’t call him mister or anything, because that’s what he wants. Only Chris still does that.
“Yes. What are you talking about?”
“Mister Calotos, your appearance…”
That’s when Calotos realizes what he looks like.
“When?”
“It was my power. Ehen~.”
Says Eliana proudly, in her spirit form.
“And thanks for freeing him so quickly~.”
“He was in Majolica’s dungeon, that we explored before. We’re planning to go to the Beast Kingdom next, and challenge the dungeon there, but I don’t think it will be as fast…”
I’ve never been to the Beast Kingdom, so I want to do some sightseeing too.
“Well, take it easy~.”
“…Are you going to free the others? I’ll help.”
Calotos says suddenly.
“Not with that body~. You barely have any divine power left, right~?”
“Kaina will help. Kaina, go with Chris.”
Kaina is surprised to be addressed all of a sudden, but.
“I-I cannot follow that order. I need to stay by your side!”
She refuses.
“No, help.”
And Calotos isn’t backing down.
Kaina looks like she’s about to cry.
“Calotos. She doesn’t even have a body, she can’t help.”
I throw her a bone, and Kaina raises her face in my direction.
“Call a golem.”
Says Calotos. I don’t remember telling him I can do that, but I guess Chris told him.
I summon the humanoid golem, and Calotos puts his hand on it.
The golem changes shape, and looks without a doubt like Kaina.
“You can possess.”
He says, and Kaina nods weakly, before putting her body over the golem.
The monochrome golem gains color, and turns into Kaina.
“Can you move? No problems?”
Kaina moves her limbs.”
“No problem.”
She says weakly again, and Calotos nods with satisfaction.
“Kaina, help Chris. And… See the outside world and report.”
“So basically~, Calo wants you to see the outside world in his stead~. And to tell him how it changed~.”
Says Eliana, and Calotos nods.
“Does that mean I should send her here with Transfer from time to time?”
“I think Calo is connected to Kaina~. She can probably send her consciousness here~.”
“And what happens to the golem when she does?”
“Turns back into a normal golem, I guess~? Do you know how, Kaina~?”
“Y-yes. It’s all right.”
“But not too frequently. Help Chris.”
Eliana says transferring her consciousness like that takes energy, so she can’t do that all the time.
Come to think of it, Chris said Calotos was interested in the outside world, and I think he wants to know more about it, but I also think he’s trying to get Kaina to see it.. Am I overthinking?
“Go on, Kaina.”
