Walking in another world – Chapter 513 – Central city Fors – Part one

The headquarters of the beast king, Fors. There are three distinctive buildings here.

One is the beast king’s castle. The current king always adds his touches, so I definitely can’t call it beautiful. However, it’s said that facilities in the castle are pretty good, because the best people in their fields also change them.

The second is the fighting arena where the tournament takes place. It looks like the arena that I’ve heard exists in the empire, but this one has a feature that one doesn’t have. And that feature allows people to not die even if they suffer normally fatal wounds.

This feature needs a lot of magic stones to work, so it’s practically not usable outside of this circumstance.

The third is the dungeon. It’s a tower type, and its height surpasses even the castle. Chris told me it has a hundred floors, but it doesn’t actually look that big from here.

Apparently there’s some spatial warping going on inside.

“Ah, Sora. This way.”

Our first stop in Fors is the adventurer guild, where we decided to meet yesterday through the communications devices.

And when Kotori sees us, she waves.

There are two reception desks in this guild. One is a regular one, and the other is just for the dungeon.

It reminds me of the adventurer guild in Majolica.

“Ou, Siphon. You really are with Sora’s party.”

“Argo? I heard from Sora that you got your heart broken.”

Siphon and Argo start poking at each other, like they haven’t met in a while and are happy to see each other. I never said he got his heart broken.

Argo is glaring at me with his face turning red, but I’m innocent.

“Shizune, I’m glad you’re okay.”

“Kaede.”

Shizune is happy to meet Kaede and the others again.

There must be something between her and Kaede I don’t know about, because Shizune is crying despite being so confident all the time.

“It’s been a while, Sora. I heard you conquered Majolica’s dungeon.”

“Yes, somehow. We got the help of a clan there.”

“Does that mean the dungeon here is next?”

“I guess so.”

I think about that while talking with Naoto.

Unlike the dungeons in Majolica and Prekes, this one has all sorts of rules.

First, there are entry conditions. Only B ranked and above can enter, although they can also enter through results in the tournament or if the beast king gives permission.

Second, how many people can enter at a time. Unlike the dungeons in Majolica and Prekes, each floor isn’t very large. Because of that, only ten people can go in.

Third, and the biggest peculiarity of this dungeon, if you die in this dungeon, you’re taken to a space called the resurrection room. I couldn’t help but think of video game continues when I first heard that.

I also thought that without the danger of death, it could stand to be more open, but there’s a reason why it’s not. When a person is taken to the resurrection room and revived, the fatal wound hurts a lot more than normal.

Some people have even died from shock, even if the wound itself didn’t kill them.

It wasn’t like this when this dungeon first appeared, but at some point, revivals came accompanied with pain.

It was a long time ago, so no one knows what triggered this change.

Incidentally, wounds sustained in the dungeon don’t heal if you leave the room, so everyone has to be cautious about that. But it also means people can leave it if they can’t bear it.

“What are you guys going to do, Naoto?”

“We can’t go in on our own, so I guess we’re still thinking about it. But I’m planning to enter the tournament with Shun. What about you, Sora?”

Naoto asks, and I notice a turmoil by the entrance.

I turn around to see what’s going on… And see someone I recognize. A wolf beast person entering the guild in a bold way.

“It’s been a while, Sora! And the girls too!”

The beast king walks straight towards us, in a very good mood for some reason.

Ryuryu on the other hand, is standing behind, looking tired.

Shizune has her sights locked onto the small Ryuryu. Every time her tail moves, so do Shizune’s eyes.

“Hum, it’s been a while, Mister End.”

“Hahaha, what’s with that tone? We traded fists. Loosen up.”

I hear an uproar around me.

“Seriously?”

“Who’s that human?”

“Does he have a death wish?”

Is what I hear.

I don’t remember trading fists with him. I just remember us fighting together in Elesya.

I think he can see our reactions are iffy, and he coughs.

“W-well, more importantly, are you done registering for the tournament? I heard from Argo that you want to enter the dungeon?”

He asks.
