Walking in another world – Chapter 516 – Central city Fors – Part two

Just as we’re getting ready to go out after having breakfast, the beast king shows up.

He asks what our plans are for today, and when I say we’re going to walk around sightseeing, he drops his shoulders.

Since today there’s going to be more training for the tournament, the female to male ratio here is very skewed. But it’s not just me and Alto from our group, we also have two guys from Argo’s, and Orga from Goblin’s Grief. It’s like they’re helpers in case something goes wrong.

Kotori and the others are taking the lead, since they’ve walked around here a few times, and we mostly go to clothing stores.

The girls get excited trying on clothes, while the guys quietly wait.

It doesn’t bother me at this point, but the two guys from Argo’s party look overwhelmed.

“Are you all right, Orga?”

“I’ve had to stick with Yuno after Siphon messed up, so…”

He says with distant eyes.

Apparently that was before they were a couple. Orga says that the way she silently gets angry now is scarier than back then.

The two members of Argo’s party listen with a meek feeling to them.

In the end, we follow them around clothing stores until lunch time.

“Is it time to eat?”

Asks Hikari, signaling lunch time.

Then we’re taken to a place with nothing but food stalls, and I hear the lively voices of people calling out to customers.

Food around here is all heavily seasoned, and even meat skewers have different spices depending on the stall.

The more popular ones are packed with people, and food practically flies off them.

Most food in these stalls is the kind to eat with one hand, and I see a lot of people walking through this street while eating.

We’re no exception, and walk around after buying meat skewers from a stall that catches our eye.

The meat varies a little in size, but I stop caring after one bite. Yep, it’s good.

Usually I buy food we like and store it in the Item Box, but not this time. We’re planning to explore the dungeon, so we’re going to be here for a while.

It’s nice to have a quiet place to eat, but walking while eating is fun too. We can really feel the atmosphere, and more importantly, we get to hear what people say about the food, and gain information on what stalls are good.

Hikari is also listening closely while stuffing her cheeks with food. Sometimes she follows them with her eyes to find stalls she’s interested in.

In the end, by the time we leave the street, we’ve had three meat skewers.

Maybe the meat isn’t that big because the idea is to enjoy different stalls. That’s a good sales tactic.

Then we head to a store for adventurers, because all of a sudden, Elsa and Alto are coming to the dungeon too, and we need equipment for them.

They have plenty of travel equipment, but not to fight monsters.

I have no intention of letting monsters near them, but still, they should be equipped with something at least somewhat strong.

And if the idea is for them to level up, they need to fight. I’ve discussed this with the others.

The one closest to them in terms of combat style is Hikari, mostly because they can’t swing heavy weapons, and have been receiving lessons on how to use a dagger.

Also, from what I’ve heard, they can use sticks too.

“So should we prioritize mobility?”

“That’s a good idea. They should typically dodge.”

Hikari says something crazy in response to Rurika.

Yes, dodging would be best, but it’s not that easy. Still, she’s not wrong.

Stopping monster attacks with a dagger is hard, so people who use them tend to focus on evading attacks.

Also, a lot of them use bows to attack from a distance. It’s rare to use just daggers. And as adventurers go up in rank and fight larger monsters, most drop the daggers in favor of something else.

But some can still fight depending on their weapons, so not all give it up.

A lot of opinions are thrown around, and in the end, when Elsa sees the price of the equipment, she turns pale.

It’s pretty steep.

“Don’t worry, it’s cheap compared to the price of your life.”

Says Rurika, and Mia and the others nod in agreement.

As for the weapon, she grabs each in turn and chooses what feels right.

Once that’s done, we also have a look at disposable items, but stuff like healing and vitality potions are expensive, and I get the feeling that mana potions are cheap.
