Walking in another world – Chapter 524 – Fors dungeon – Part five

We take a break after the tenth floor, and head to the eleventh.

The difficulty is going to gradually go up from here. The monsters that spawn here are still wolf types, but from here to the fifteenth floor, it will be ten wolves at a time with one superior species, and this will repeat ten times.

And then from the sixteenth floor, there will be twenty wolves with three superior species. Also, suffice to say, the intervals between batches of monsters also get shorter.

If we’re too slow on the sixteenth floor in particular, it will get flooded with monsters and make it hard to move as we want.

The sizes of the rooms don’t really change. They’re about the size of a couple of basketball courts.

Also, the packs getting bigger doesn’t really bother us, because Shizune and Chris can wipe them all out with area of effect magic. And when the last batch arrives, we let Elsa and Alto join in.

At this point, we’re not having them fight together. Instead we let them each take on a wolf.

Of course, we’re talking about regular wolves, as Hikari and the others deal with the superior species.

We end the day after reaching the seventeenth floor. We’ll take a break tomorrow, and keep going the day after that.

One of the reasons why our pace has been so fast is that Shizune is fired up to look cool in front of Elsa and Alto.

After a day of resting, we head back to the dungeon, but change our strategy again.

Elsa and Alto still step up when it’s time for the final batch, but I join them as we fight one superior species.

There are two main differences between wolves and superior species of wolves.

One is the difference in their power. Superior species have high physical abilities, so if you can’t keep up with their speed, you can’t block their attacks, let alone attack them.

The other is their special abilities, like elemental attacks.

But this time, I’m using Provoke to draw it towards me while Elsa and Alto attack.

That means they get to focus on just one thing, but they still have to be careful about counterattacks.

I say that, but when it’s actually time to fight, they have no trouble. They always attack right after the monster attacks me, and slow down when they miss their chance.

They also seem to be coordinating their attacks.

“Yes, perfect.”

Says Hikari after they take down a snow wolf.

“It’s because Sora attracted its attention.”

Elsa is humble, and Alto also nods.

That said, they did a good job keeping up with the monster’s moves, and considering how fast it was, that alone gives them a passing grade.

I was thinking about having them fight one on their own to boost their confidence, but I can’t go that far. Or rather, Shizune and Mia won’t let me.

They’ve reached level twenty, but I guess just because their levels are growing, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they themselves are.

We’re less interested in just raising their levels, and more on them being strong enough to defend themselves.

From that point of view, it might be best to leave the leveling up here, and focus more on making them better at fighting people through mock battles.

“Let’s finish up today by fighting on the twenty-first floor. I want to show them something I’ve been saving.”

Says Shizune, and that’s what we’ll do.

Fifty werewolves spawn on the twenty-first floor. Basically, bipedal wolves.

I’ve never fought these, but I don’t think I’ll have a chance today either.

When we enter the twenty-first floor, Shizune fires a water spell called Mist. This is supposed to have the effect of creating a mist that makes it harder to see, but Shizune uses a lot of water and sprays it on the atmosphere. When the werewolves spawn, they’re soaked.

“Thunder Rain!”

She uses another spell, and a werewolf disappears instantly.

The others keep getting hit by lightning spells like Thunder and Thunder Storm. I could use Thunder Storm and a water or wind spell at the same time too, with the help of Parallel Thinking, but Shizune can use them smoothly like that.

In particular, I can’t use the Thunder spell to hit individual enemies one after the other like that.

I’m surprised, and when my eyes meet Shizune’s she looks smug.

But unfortunately for her, Elsa and Alto don’t know a lot about magic, so they don’t understand how hard that is.
