Walking in another world – Chapter 539 – Fors dungeon – Part nine

From the sixty-first floor onward, we’ll be fighting minotaurs.

Also, the way monsters spawn changes here too. From the sixty-first to the sixty-fifth, there will be thirty minotaurs, but the number of monsters that spawns at once is random.

Sometimes there could be one, sometimes three. Sometimes there’s one followed by another right after.

The biggest issue is that so far, all monsters spawned in front of the staircase to the next floor, but now, that only goes for the first monster. The ones that come after that can come from anywhere.

Also, minotaurs have different weapons. Mostly close range weapons like swords, axes, and clubs, but they can also use shields, spears, and things that look like crossbows.

“Sora and Mia, look after Chris. Let’s decide how we’ll deal with them after actually fighting.”

We’re going to decide the order of precedence between Hikari, Rurika, Kaina, and Sera based on how many spawn.

If there are three, Hikari, Rurika and Sera will each take on one while Sera supports. More than five, and the four of them are going to fight them while we bait them and take them down with Chris’ magic.

And then, six minotaurs appear.

Normally Chris would attack preemptively with area of effect magic, but this time we have to see how we fight them.

If the four of them have a hard time fighting minotaurs, we have to change our strategy, like having two take on one each.

I draw in two with Provoke, and get ready to use my sword and shield against them.

But they never reach me, because Chris’ spirit magic erases them.

I stand ready in case more appear, and watch how the other four are fighting.

Sera defeats one without any problem. Her opponent is also using an axe, but when they clash, Sera completely overpowers it.

Kaina uses sharp moves to take down a minotaur using a sword. She doesn’t have the advantage if she stays away because the sword is big, and minotaurs are big monsters to begin with, but she stays calm.

Rurika is choosing to fight without skills this time. She typically doesn’t let her weapons meet the minotaur’s, and evades it unless she has to block.

And she deals damage by moving around and striking where the minotaur is unguarded.

Minotaur skin could very well be harder than armor, but a magic energy infused mithril sword easily rips through it. Not to mention how good Rurika is anyway. She picks the right points to attack and she can tell where it’s weakest.

In the end, Rurika never uses her new skill.

Lastly, Hikari. The size difference is really significant, and she’s holding a dagger.

Her blade is a little longer than the one she used before, but she can’t trade blows with the club the minotaur is swinging like a sword.

Still, Hikari doesn’t look scared, and she faces it head on, using her swift moves to slash at its legs.

The minotaur’s large body can’t keep up, and its movements get worse as time passes because of the paralyzing effect on Hikari’s dagger.

But still, minotaurs are a higher class of monsters, so they have high resistance. And so, more spawn before Hikari can deal the finishing blow. The space behind her seems to tremble, and a new one appears.

It’s not just there either, a total of ten minotaurs spawn, so we can’t support Hikari.

Just as she’s about to attack the crouching minotaur, another one appears behind her, and swings its axe down.

Its aim isn’t off, but it still misses, and instead hits the other minotaur.

The minotaur dies to that hit, along with the one that hit it, as Hikari gets behind it and plunges her dagger deep into its back.

More keep spawning, but their numbers steadily go down, as we finish off all the monsters on the sixty-fifth floor.

I fought five of them, but never really had trouble. I think there’s something easier about fighting humanoid monsters.
