Next, we are taken to an empty area in the outskirts of the village. Leight is here, along with guards who guided us around the village, and a few kids that seem curious about us outsiders.
Leight and the guards are still here because they heard about me building a house with Earth Magic.
I look at the empty area, and start thinking.
Normally I would go with the same kind of house as before, but we have over twenty people today, and I need to separate them between men and women.
If we were just in the middle of the forest, I would have to make it so we can move out at a moment’s notice, but we’re in a village.
I’ll go with two houses with two floors. The trees around here are tall, so even if we’re close, their branches won’t bother us.
I put my hands on the ground, release magic energy while picturing what I want to make, and the earth takes shape.
Ahh. Less than five minutes go by, but my magic energy is swiftly drained.
It’s a little hard, because they have to be big and I need to make the interior too… Making different rooms is tiring.
This will be for the girls, and there’s a space for cooking and eating too. The one for the guys will be simpler.
People like Siphon and the others whose main occupation is adventurer won’t mind sleeping on the floor of a big room together, but… I should make separate rooms for us otherworlders, Goblin’s Grief, and Argo’s party.
I drink a mana potion, and get to work right away, but it’s not like we’re in a hurry, so I take out sheets and stuff from the Item Box to start putting the furniture in order.
Well, I say furniture, but it’s just stuff for sleeping like the sheets and cooking utensils.
“You made a bath too?”
Argo is exasperated, but it’s necessary.
Chris and the others were asking what kind of bath I would make too, so I went with one heated by firewood.
Once I recover my MP, I tackle the men’s house. This one’s going to be simpler, with just a bath and places to sleep.
I’m purposely leaving out a place to eat so Argo’s party and Siphon don’t drink… Or rather, so they don’t have one of those banquets.
I feel like Argo’s party loves alcohol. Siphon does too, but that’s a habit he gained from going to bars to gather information.
I don’t mind if they drink in their rooms, but if it starts to smell, it’s up to them to ventilate them. I made windows this time.
“Are houses in towns built like that too?”
“Of course not. That’s not normal.”
I hear Ryuryu say to someone as I finish the house.
People around them are nodding, but let’s not mind that.
What’s important is to be comfortable.
If they got used to it… Could they do it too with some training?
I can do this because of my skills, but if people work together with good synergy, could they do it, or would it be too difficult?
It needs a lot of magic energy too.
Anyway, they’re done, so the girls start cooking right away.
The rest of us are left with nothing to do, so Leight tells us about the area around the village. Mostly about monsters, but most monsters around here are the kind that C rank adventurers would take on.
Conversely, there aren’t many monsters on the level of goblins or wolves.
“Sometimes we see humanoid monsters like ogres, but we haven’t seen them in a while. That means we’re seeing more spider and snake monsters, but it feels like the number of monsters is going down as a whole.”
“Is it because the demon king is gone?”
“…No, Miss Nell said the timeline doesn’t add up.”
“Miss Nell?”
I ask without thinking after hearing a name I don’t recognize, and Ryuryu responds instead of Leight.
“Nell took over as miko after my sister.”
“That’s right, you two were friends, right?”
“Of course. That’s why I’m lookin’ forward to seein’ her again. My sister asked me to see how she’s doing too.”
Leight squints as Ryuryu speaks.
“Then you can take care of the business with Darc tomorrow. Go say hello to people in the village today.”
He says while taking the kids with him.
I don’t know when they became friends with Hikari, but I see a lot of them waving to her.
“I played a bit.”
She says with a satisfied nod.
We finish eating just as it gets dark.
Chris prepares the bath, and we’re sent to our rooms like we’re being shooed away.
I also prepare the bath, along with a sorcerer of Argo’s party.
We all take turns taking a bath, and go to our rooms to sleep.
The idea was to separate people by parties, but that’s not what’s happening. Geitz is with the otherworlders, Siphon and others that like to drink are together, and the last group has Jin, Guilford, and the others.
I’m not going to ask why it turned out like this, but I want Siphon to at least make sure Yuno doesn’t get mad at him.
