Walking in another world – Chapter 595 – Fors dungeon – Part twenty-three

We’re forced into long battles from the seventy-eighth to the eightieth floor, because monsters keep summoning others.

It’s especially bad because they all have random magic elements, so we spend a lot of time defending against magic of four elements being tossed around.

Still, Chris’ magic helps us reduce their numbers, until we can eventually beat them.

She focuses on power to take out several monsters at once, but the downside is that she can’t fire it one after the other.

Rurika and the others take over and keep the monsters back while Chris rests, and when we think it’s time to take them down, we go ahead and lower their numbers too.

However, the throwing weapons I made are practically all gone.

“But that wasn’t fair.”

“Yes, it was incredible.”

“I have never seen that before either.”

Rurika, Hikari, and Chris are talking about the magic the orthros on the eightieth floor used.

Both of its heads had red eyes, and it only summoned others once, right after we arrived. The monsters it summoned on the other hand, kept summoning more.

When the fifth one did it, I thought the floor would be filled to capacity with them. Not only that, but since each head can summon, the summoning speed is very fast.

In the end, we kept bracing for attacks and counterattacking, over and over, until it was just the boss left. But then it used magic.

It was fire magic, but the magic each head used combined, turning a low rank Fireball into a mid rank or higher attack.

Aura Shield couldn’t handle it, so I created a wall with Wind Magic in that split second. And it managed to hold because Mia reinforced it with her holy magic.

Normally, holy magic targets and buffs people, but Mia has adapted it.

It’s pretty incredible actually. Chris is excited about it too.

“Since when can you do that?”

“Hn… I just felt like I could do it.”

Is what she says to me.

Can she do that to offensive skills and magic? Actually, she says she’s fine, but it’s clear that it took a lot more out of her compared to using support spells on people.

Combining two spells to make them stronger… It’s like Composite Magic. Does that mean they can do the same with different elements?

We’re done with orthtros, so I don’t really want to go back to the eightieth floor just to check.

Conquering dungeons is all about getting to the next floor, but there’s always danger. They said people don’t die if they are killed here, but there’s no reason to take unnecessary risks.

Let’s just report that these monsters can combine magic to make it stronger.

“Let’s go back and rest for the day. Apparently there will be new monsters from now on.”

“Yes. I want to look them up too if we have the time.”

I say, and Rurika looks away. She’s not the only one either.

Chris has an awkward smile on her face. Well, we know some people here have a hard time sitting still.

“How about you go shopping for us? We used a lot of throwing weapons.”

“Y-yes. If you say so Sora, what choice do we have?”

You sound too excited.

Hikari just falls asleep when she loses focus, but sometimes Rurika faces books like she’s burning away, like something’s really bothering her.

And so, Mia, Chris, and I head to the reference room.

The monster that appears from the eighty-first to the eighty-fifth floors is called deathhound. Then, from the eighty-sixth to the ninety, it’s one called anubis that comes with undead monsters.

Deathhounds are skeleton dogs, and we have to keep attacking them with weapons that have the holy element to take them down.

Unlike other undead monsters, these ones don’t have magic stones, so we really have to keep hitting them with physical attacks.

However, we’ll get hit with status conditions like curse if we get close, so we have to deal with that.

It says they have high resistance against magic, and elements other than holy and light have practically no effect.

It’s not like it blocks them completely, but one would have to have very strong magic energy to damage them.

“I guess we’ll be relying on Mia’s Holy Arrow then.”

“Yes, but apparently holy magic and light magic are not very effective either.”

There’s a note on that page.

Then I guess our offense will be mostly physical attacks? The problem is being hit with status effects if we get close.

“I think you’ll have to make a lot of holy water, Mia.”

I’m going to make amulets against curses with the Creation skill, but I need a lot of holy water for that.

I have the Holy Magic skill, but I can’t make holy water, so I’ll need help with that.

“It looks like this will take time.”

“We can’t get around it. Let’s not rush it.”

Chris is right. If we get sloppy with our preparations, it will all come to nothing.

Then we read about anubis, and head back to the inn.
