Walking in another world – Chapter 630 – Zuirya

There’s a small hill in the middle of Zuirya, that has an entrance. This is the entrance to the dungeon.

The walls around it are apparently a remnant of when a dungeon break happened long ago.

This dungeon has already been conquered, and there hasn’t been a dungeon break since.

We leave the wagon, and walk through the main street towards the center of town, because the adventurer guild is near the dungeon.

There are stalls lined up on both sides of the street as we get closer to the center, selling weapons and armor, various potions, and food.

By casting Appraisal as I pass by the stalls, I see bargains like high quality potions and sharp swords jumbled together with swords that are pretty much garbage.

“Is that a map of the dungeon?”

“I-is this your first time here?”

Someone behind a stall responds to my mumbling, so I nod.

“How about getting one then? It’ll let you walk around the dungeon without getting lost.”

It’s actually pretty detailed. There are ten kinds of maps, and they all have a number in the corner.

“…I shouldn’t. The others might have them already.”

I shake my head. I don’t even know what this dungeon is like.

Majolica’s changes periodically, so can I take the fact that maps are being sold to mean that isn’t the case here?

The person making the pitch is disappointed, but doesn’t insist. Actually, he’s already moved on to someone else. That was a quick recovery.

Maybe it’s experience speaking, and leading to the conclusion that I’m definitely not buying.

I won’t know until I actually enter the dungeon, but if Map works there, that’s all I need. But maybe it would make sense to buy maps for the others, since I’m the only one who can see Map.

Some other people call out to us as we keep walking, but we reach the guild without having bought anything.

I have enough disposable items in the Item Box, and mithril weapons are better than what they have.

“Is that Guilford?”

Asks Rurika as soon as we walk in. She’s looking towards the wall with the board where quests are fixed.

Guilford also sees us, and walks our way.

“You got here fast.”

“We Transferred along the way.”

I say, and Guilford nods.

“Did you just get here? Did you find an inn?”

“We just got here. We were going to send a message if we didn’t find each other.”

“I see. It’s good timing, because we went to the dungeon yesterday. Anyway, we actually already have a room for you. It’s a little on the expensive side, but the meals are good, and it comes with a bath.”

Wouldn’t that be pretty expensive?

As I think that, Guilford smiles awkwardly.

“I know I made a decision for you, but the cheap ones were all full, so we ended up going with one with a bath and nice meals. And money isn’t really a problem for you, is it?”

I guess that makes sense. Hikari is happily nodding too, and apparently food in the empire tends to be hit or miss.

“So now what? Should I take you to the inn, or do you want to register to enter the dungeon?”

“Can we do that now?”

“Yes, it’s like registering for the guild.”

If it doesn’t take a lot of time, we should register.

Guilford takes us to a building near the entrance to the dungeon, where we pay a registration fee, and an employee takes us to the entrance to the dungeon.

“Please touch this panel with your hand. Left or right, whichever you prefer.”

I do just that, and the panel makes a sound.

The registration is complete. Next please.

We go one at a time, but there’s a problem.

“Strange… This has never happened before.”

The employee is baffled. Yes, Kaina can’t register. Is it because she’s a golem?

“I’m sorry, but it doesn’t look like this person can enter the dungeon. I will look into why, but…”

“Ah, if it’s not possible, then we just have to accept.”

If Kaina can’t go in the dungeon, maybe she should stay in the giant’s village.

“So about the dungeon…”

“Ah, I’ll tell them about it. They just got here.”

“Very well. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Have a happy dungeon life.”

We receive the money back from Kaina’s registration, and head to the inn with Guilford.

“So how did you come here? By that thing? Did you walk?”

“Ah, we bought a wagon.”

“I see. Then you should keep it in the inn. They don’t charge extra.”

And so, we go get the horses from the stable, and head to the inn.

Too bad that Kaina won’t be able to go to the dungeon with them.
Thanks for the treat.
