Walking in another world – Chapter 640 – Zuirya dungeon – Part six

“Tasty as always.”

Says Argo while biting meat off a skewer.

Guilford and the others nod in agreement, and reach for meat on the plate.

The ones made by Hikari have one larger lump, but grown adults aren’t going to be satisfied with just one skewer. And Hikari is reaching for her second one too.

There wasn’t anyone by the entrance of the third floor selling monsters, but there weren’t any monsters running free either.

They spawn in random locations, but if there are people nearby, they’ll take them down.

The boss of the third floor is a goblin lord, so there are fewer people fighting it again and again too.

But there are still some people who come to the third floor, looking for goblin kings walking around.

This is the place with the highest spawn rate of goblin superior species, except for lords, and there’s the rare king too. They’re strong compared to other goblins, but everyone’s after the magic swords that they sometimes carry.

But since each king carries a different weapon, it’s all up to luck. Not to mention that sometimes equipment disappears when monsters die.

“Well, even if they’re goblins, magic stones from superior species should sell for a lot. That might be a good way for people without magic bags to make money.”

It’s easier to make money with the orc meat on the next floor, but that means having to carry it out. That’s easy with item bags, but it still comes with conditions, the most important of which being preservation. Meat rots, so people have to bring it back before it does. It keeps for longer if the monsters’ blood is drained, but that’s hard to do in a dungeon. Especially in a labyrinth type with nowhere to hang them.

“Come to think of it, does this dungeon have magic items that return people to the entrance?”

“Return to the entrance?”

Asks Argo, and I tell them about the return stones found in Majolica’s dungeon.

“Have you ever heard of something like that?”

“No.”

Guilford says to Argo.

“Well, there are people who hide information about precious stuff. Maybe it does exist.”

“True. And it could be sold in auctions, and we wouldn’t know. We gathered information about monsters, but we only know the items we’ve seen.”

Says Guilford after Argo.

By the way, they knew about the shamal horn because they bought one cheap.

“We looked for another one being sold when we got here and investigated the dungeon. There were a few in stalls, but we were surprised to see they were being treated as precious items.”

“…Then should we sell ours?”

“Well, none of us needs money that badly. And if we get to eat food this tasty, it’s already worth it.”

Says Rick, and the others nod. They also say that after having good food in Elesya and other places, they can’t go back to the bad food of the empire.

Even food that’s good in inns is iffy on stalls. And preserved foods are rich in nutrients, but the taste…

“Should we start the afternoon hunt then?”

After eating and resting, we resume the exploration.

We don’t find a goblin king, but encounters in general increase as we get further away from the entrance, because there are fewer people.

“But now it’s hard to go back.”

Says Argo with a sigh when we hit our quota. Rurika and the others are nodding too.

I’m the only one that’s happy to walk.

In the end, we have to stay in the dungeon for four days to complete the third floor.

We peek at the boss room on our way back, and since no one’s around, we make our request and go in.

“The boss is the easiest part.”

It’s a goblin lord and its minions, but they go down in less than ten minutes.

I remember to try Intimidate on the lord, but it only dulls its movements for less than a second.

I guess a lord has resistance. It works on the others though.

And the treasure chest… Is empty?

“Ah, I heard this is a very rare phenomenon, but sometimes it really does have nothing.”

Argo says this is even rarer than getting a valuable item.

“What about the goblin lord’s magic stone?”

“I want to buy it for myself if I can.”

“Okay. What about the others?”

“We can sell them.”

Precious magic stones are useful for Alchemy and Creation, so I want to keep it.

We can sell the others in the guild, so we split them among everyone, and I pay for everyone’s part of the lord’s magic stone.

They are reluctant, but take it. Not just Argo’s party, mine too.

Even if it will be used for the party, I still don’t know if it will be used.
