Walking in another world – Chapter 647 – Alchemist guild

“What about the boss?”

Asks Argo.

“We could rest at the inn this time, right? We won’t be kept waiting anyway.”

Says Guilford, and we do just that.

Everyone’s looking tired after ten days in the dungeon. Taking monsters apart didn’t help either.

But when I say I want to go to the alchemist guild…

“I’m going too!”

Says Hikari, and Rick and Harold say they’re coming along.

The alchemist guild is nearby, but they say it’s just in case.

I figured Mia and the others might come too, but they’re tired, so they’re opting to rest.

The alchemist guild is on the second floor of the adventurer guild, and there’s not much activity here.

There’s only one receptionist despite there being multiple reception desks, and the place is somewhat dimly lit.

I use Presence Detection, and sense more people in the back, but not a lot.

When we go in, the receptionist raises her head slowly, but soon lowers it again.

As I get closer, I see she’s reading a book, but I call out to her.

“What?”

She says after raising her head again. She sounds bothered by me.

The book she’s reading is about alchemy, but I think she should show a different attitude when someone comes in.

Her attitude makes me hesitate to bring my stuff out.

“Master, this is no good. Let’s go to the merchant or the adventurer guild.”

Says Hikari quietly, picking up on what I’m thinking.

She really left a bad impression, for Hikari to say this despite wanting more meat on the market.

Rick and Harold leave the decision up to me, and don’t say much.

“What?”

She asks again, sounding annoyed again.

“…Nothing.”

I decide not to give them the items. It will hurt the adventurers here, but it can’t be helped.

Also… I have a bad impression of the empire anyway, because of the invasion of Eldo and how they treated Sera.

“Let’s go back and rest. Sorry for dragging you along…”

“No problem.”

“Yes. We wouldn’t have sold it either.”

Say Rick and Harold with exasperated expressions.

I get that there aren’t many people here, but she could stand to be more accommodating when someone does come.

I brought them research materials and everything.

Maybe I’ll give this stuff to Bozen next time I’m in Prekes. I could send it from here, but it would take time. Not to mention the uncertainty of whether or not it would get there.

We haven’t encountered many, but this world does have bandits, not to mention monsters.

People whose job it is to transport stuff hire guards for that reason, but there’s no guarantee. Although I think the chances of failure are low.

And so, I put it in the Item Box until the time comes.

◇ ◇ ◇

“Oh? Back already?”

Asks Rurika when we enter the room again. It looks like she’s tending to her equipment.

Mia is next to her, so I’m sure Rurika is teaching her how to do it.

I tell them what happened.

“You had no choice then.”

Says Chris, looking kind of exasperated.

I join them, and I’ll tend to my equipment until it’s time for bed.

Cello Robe: Durability 34/100

This is a robe I made with Creation, with fire and darkness resistance. It doesn’t look damaged, but Analysis shows me the durability has gone down. That just shows how many red orc and black orc attacks it blocked.

I’m holding it in my right hand, and a magic stone in my left, and I make magic energy flow.

The magic stone shines red, but loses it gradually, until it’s transparent, and it breaks.

Cello Robe: Durability 88/100

One magic stone isn’t enough to restore it completely, so I use another one.

I check it again, and it’s perfect.

I do the same with everyone’s robes, and I need to remember to do the same to Argo and the others’ tomorrow.

I don’t think we’ll fight any more red orcs or black orcs in this dungeon, so I don’t think the cello robes will get to shine again.

Actually, there are demons on the seventh floor, so maybe we should equip them there.

There are red ogres on the eighth floor, but those don’t really have much in the way of the fire element, so I don’t think we’ll need them.

With this done for now, and since the food is ready, we head to the dining hall.

Today we’re having red orc and black orc meat, so Hikari is happy.

Of course, since we brought this here, the other customers are having regular food. Argo and the others share it with people they know, and they look surprised.

Maybe there really will be more people hunting on the fifth floor… Maybe it’s not that simple.
