Walking in another world – Chapter 650 – Zuirya dungeon – Part fourteen

Most of the documents about the boss of the seventh floor, demon lord, are pretty old.

The reason why is clear. In the past few years, Jetblack has been hogging most of the information. All to retain their advantage.

That’s what a lot of adventurers think anyway, but since adventurers are not obligated to share information, no one can do anything about it. Sometimes, information is money.

And if you don’t like that, take information to the guild yourself.

This dungeon has safety areas you can run to if you don’t think you can defeat a boss, so it’s possible to defeat a boss even if it takes dozens of tries.

The downside is that you have to hunt demons every time you want to try, and you have to wait some time to challenge the boss anyway.

“According to the documents, the demon lord summons minions.”

It feels like the upper floors of the Fors dungeon. And it also says that it summons minions multiple times.

“But it won’t do it until all the others are down.”

“Then can’t we leave one alive, and then just focus on the demon lord?”

I can aggro the last one and keep it busy while everyone attacks the demon lord.

But Chris quietly shakes her head.

“It says here that the last one will self-destruct.”

“Self-destruct?”

“Yes.”

Chris says it will happen if there are more than two.

Then I can take one and someone else can take the other, right? The problem is who.

It would be great if Kaina was here, since she has high defense.

Argo and the others could face them one on one, but it wouldn’t be as safe.

It would be better if it was two on one to minimize the risk, but that would mean fewer people attacking the demon lord.

…What about Mia?

“Another thing. The more demon lord minions we beat, the stronger it becomes.”

If that’s true, we should probably hold off on taking them down. I wonder how much each defeated demon powers it up.

“Apparently this information was provided by Jetblack.”

Argo says they purposefully revealed that.

If this is true, it definitely makes things harder.

There’s no doubt that information about the boss getting stronger makes it more difficult for people who reach the seventh floor to challenge the demon lord.

And that in turn creates the choice of relying on Jetblack to continue. They have their past record, and declared that they’ll help people wanting to go past this floor.

“So we try to take down as few minions as possible, and if that doesn’t work, try to stop it from summoning more? Worst case scenario, if we take down too many and feel the boss is too strong, we can always run to the safety zone and try again another time.”

Argo is right. In any case, we have to try and see.

The simple fact that we can do that makes me feel more at ease.

Of course, we’re not going in there planning to just scout and not take the boss down. It would take a long time to hunt the demons again.

And since they don’t drop meat, Hikari’s motivation is low.

◇ ◇ ◇

Two days later, we enter the boss room.

There’s zero waiting time.

Once we’re all in, the door closes, and the boss spawns.

Demons are about two meters tall, but demon lords are about three.

There are other differences, like its equipment being more showy. It has bracelets and rings too. And they’re not just for show, they have effects.

They increase its stats, but have their own durability, so if they’re broken, its stats will go down.

I don’t know how tough they are, or how much force we need to destroy them, but I guess we can think of it like, if they’re destroyed in battle, lucky us.

I tell this to everyone just in case.

“Sora, please take on two of them. Chris, if you can keep them trapped with magic, do it. We’ll aggro demons, so take on the boss, Rurika.”

We’re going to try not to take down the demon lord’s minions.

Chris, me, and Argo’s party will fight them, while Rurika, Sera, Hikari, and Mia fight the boss.

Of course, if this doesn’t work, we’ll change tactics.

And as I draw the demons’ aggro, Chris and I fire magic at the same time.
