Firestorm and Tornado magic rages inside the boss room, but they are canceled without reaching the demons.
I assume Sora and Chris dropped the power of their spells so it didn’t kill the monsters by accident. And they don’t want to deal too much damage either.
But what they did was make the monsters lock onto the people they saw attack.
Magic is unleashed again, this time coming only from Sora.
Many wind blades attack the demons and rip their bodies.
This one is activated too quickly for the demons to use magic to cancel it out.
Sora can cast magic so quickly thanks to a skill. He even uses different spells at the same time.
The ten demons that were attacked are now walking towards him.
Even if he protects himself with a shield, it can’t be easy to block attacks from ten monsters.
He could get through it with skills for a short period of time, but he can’t use skills and magic forever.
He’s going to have to recover, but I’m not worried. Argo and the others are on the move.
The five of them are drawing in seven demons. These monsters are a bad match for them, but they can handle them well if they’re focusing on defense.
The real hard part about this battle is that they can’t put these monsters down.
Demons also use magic up close, so they need constant attention.
Sora is now blocking attacks from three demons. It doesn’t seem dangerous yet, but Chris has magic ready to fire. But she’s also keeping an eye on Argo’s party, in case they need backup.
I take a deep breath, and follow Rurika and the others as they run out.
We’re heading towards the demon lord.
I grip my spear tighter, but I’m going to fight while supporting with holy magic.
Hikari unleashes a Projectile Slash, and Sera and Rurika get close enough to attack. I also watch for intervals to attack with the spear.
Just as I cast support magic, an invisible wall blocks all of our attacks.
Sera’s axes carry the most offensive power, but even they don’t get through.
But we’ve encountered this phenomenon in the dungeon in Fors, so it doesn’t shake us.
We’ll just keep attacking until we deal damage.
I’m about to attack again, but cast holy magic.
Rurika and the others are enveloped in light. Support magic wears off with time, but also if enemies keep attacking. That’s why I have to focus and cast it again before it’s gone completely.
It’s tricky to use, especially since the effect doesn’t stack. It would be simpler to keep casting it one on top of the other, but there are only so many times I can use it, so I can’t waste it.
I can recover MP with mana potions, but even those stop working for a while if I drink too many.
The others know this, so they run around the boss while being careful not to get attacked, especially Hikari.
Rurika doesn’t use the Gale skill to attack unless she knows it will hit, and retreats every time an attack lands.
Sera is always fighting up close, but the fact that I get to focus mainly on her means there is a lot less I have to deal with.
She dodges attacks from the demon lord, and sometimes blocks them with her axes.
Darkness magic is blocked by my support magic, and other elements are stopped by infusing the axes with magic energy. She can’t keep the magic energy flowing at all times because she doesn’t have a lot, so she only does that when attacks connect.
But she does more than just block. She swings her axes at every opportunity.
Her low magic energy means she can’t use it to attack, but the weapons already have a holy element attached.
But even if Sera is strong, this is a lord class monster. It’s not something for a person to fight alone.
Thankfully, despite some dangerous spots, any time Sera’s posture falls, someone jumps in to buy her time to recover.
I also help a few times, but my attacks don’t reach it.
If they don’t reach it like this, maybe I should use my beast person transformation to increase my attack power and make it use its magic energy quickly, but there’s a problem.
I’ve been training to control this transformation better while we traveled, so I won’t be thrown around by its power. The problem is that while my power would surpass even Sera’s, I wouldn’t be able to use holy magic very well.
It wouldn’t be out of my hands completely, but I wouldn’t be able to use it precisely like I’m doing now.
I feel like this will change as I get used to it, but I’m not there yet.
“Big sister Mia, bear with it for now.”
Says Hikari, who can see me gripping my spear tighter with frustration.
“…Yes.”
I nod, and take a deep breath.
I’m sure the monster is also having a lot taken out of it, so I shouldn’t rush. We should stay safe and continue weakening it.
And so, I clear my mind, and thrust my spear when I see a chance.

So… these “demons” and “demon king” are entirely different from the likes of Ignis and Eris, right?
I assume they are different terms in Japanese that might both translate to “demon”, like maybe Majin and Akuma.
In which case, it might be better to call these devils or some such instead to differentiate.
Thanks for the treat.
