Argo slashes the ogre lord, bringing it to its knees.
The light in its eyes disappears, and so does its reaction on Presence Detection.
“It really was tough.”
Fighting with mainly physical attacks means this took about an hour.
Actually, that’s counting from when we joined the fight, so Argo and the others were fighting for longer.
It took longer to beat than the one in the boss room because Chris didn’t use her spirit magic. It’s so strong that it’s hard to use with friendlies around.
“How about we take a break?”
I ask.
We can dry and clean our sweaty clothes with purification magic, but healing magic does nothing for exhaustion.
“Is anyone coming this way?”
Asks Argo.
“…There’s a group of thirty approaching.”
I see the reactions on Map.
“Then let’s rest later. We shouldn’t draw attention, but what should we do?”
I see, there’s a good chance those reactions are from a group that’s coming here to take out these monsters.
I retrieve the ogre lord, and we start moving in the opposite direction of that group.
The ground is dirty with blood, showing there was fighting, but it should be clean by the time they get here.
Although they’ll figure out someone took out those monsters when they see there isn’t a single monster around.
They would know we did it if we sold the monsters in the guild, but we can just sell them in another guild.
That’s Argo’s idea. Especially since any guild will be happy to have lord class materials. And we don’t have to answer if they ask where we got them.
Although if monsters like these were hunted somewhere near that guild, it could be a sign that something was not right, so the guild would need to be alerted.
We walk as Argo explains this, and an hour later, we decide we’re far enough away and rest.
Everyone is relieved to be able to finally stop. Except me of course.
I could keep going, because not only do I not get tired, but I recover too.
I can feel people’s jealous eyes.
I keep an eye on Map while we eat, but it should take that group another couple of hours to get to where the lords were. And it might take longer, because I see monster reactions appearing in their way.
And when I say that…
“Let’s take a longer break then.”
Says argo, and no one objects.
After that, new monsters spawn nearby, so we make that the last hunt of the day.
“We hunted a lot, but there’s still a lot to go.”
I nod to Argo. We only hunted about two hundred.
Normally this would be a good pace, but the problem is finding monsters.
I can see them on Map, but it’s clear that most parties aren’t here to hunt.
That means the monsters are left alone, and we have to head to where they are to hunt them. And on this wide and complex floor, it’s a lot harder to find monsters compared to the others.
“I feel like using the shamal horn…”
“There’s no point, considering how much we’ve hunted so far. We should save it for when it’s in the single digits.”
Says Guilford to Argo’s mumbling.
There really isn’t much point in using it when there’s close to three hundred left.
And as I hear them, I use the Strengthening skill.
It excels at strengthening skills, bodies, and weapons, but it’s not really leveling up.
This one is the hardest to level up through proficiency. There’s also the fact that I have too many skills.
I call my stats screen, and look through them.
My Walking is level one hundred sixteen. It’s been slower to level up since I went past a hundred.
I have nine skill points… Is that enough? I used to have a lot, but I kept using them.
My skills are…
(Appraisal) / (People Appraisal) / (Appraisal Obstruction) / (Parallel Thinking) / (Sword Master) / (Physical Strengthening) / (Presence Detection) / (Magic Energy Detection) / (Natural Recovery Boost) / (Status Ailment Resistance) / (Pain Reduction) / (Presence Concealment) / (Night Vision) / Cooking) / (Throw – Shooting) / (Intimidate) / (MP Consumption Reduction) / (Magic Energy Control) / (Basic Daily Life Magic) / (Fire Magic) / (Water Magic) / (Wind Magic) / (Earth Magic) / (Light Magic) / (Spatial Magic) / (Holy Magic) / (Alchemy) / ( Effect Attachment) / (Creation) / (Transfer)
These are all LvMAX.
(Darkness Magic Lv9) / ( Gravity Magic Lv8) / (Life Granting Lv8) / (Replication Lv9) / (Shaping Lv8) / (Absorption Lv7) / (Telepathy Lv5) / (MP Conversion Lv7) / (Combine Lv5) / (Sync Lv4) / (Covert Lv5) / (Shieldmaster Lv7) / (Magic Energy Infusion Lv6) / (Composite Lv6) / (Analysis Lv5) / (Blacksmith Lv6) / (Memory Lv5) / (Strengthening Lv3)
These are either almost there or still low.
It’s easy to raise the levels of the combat ones in a dungeon, but there are so many of them, that some fall behind.
After looking at the skills I have, I look at what I can learn.
My eyes are drawn to the combat ones, but some might shine brighter depending on what a dungeon is like.
For example, here… Draw?
It draws things that are far away, but they have to be within sight.
Does it work like Transfer? Maybe I could designate a presence by using Map and Presence Detection or Magic Energy Detection to draw it to me.
Of course, drawing something from far away would cost a lot of MP, but I have over a thousand of it.
…Hm, let’s not. I feel like this one could be really dangerous.
I take a deep breath, and close the stats screen.
