Walking in another world – Chapter 681 – Zuirya dungeon – Part thirty-three

I use the recoil of the rebound, and swing sword the down again. But again, it’s blocked.

The difference is that this time, instead of bouncing back, my sword is stopped.

It’s strong. It doesn’t budge when our swords clash.

Actually, am I losing? Is this because I’m using the sword one-handed?

I’m holding a shield with the other hand, but the kijin is using its word with both hands.

Now that I’m getting a closer look, that sword is too big for one hand, but not long enough to be called a greatsword.

I put my shield in the Item Box, and hold my sword tightly with both hands too.

Now we’re on even ground, but I still can’t push it back.

Are we evenly matched?

I decide to step back.

This deadlock only wastes time, and I need to show the others how the kijin moves.

Then Hikari attacks, swinging her dagger rapidly from afar.

Wind cuts fly out with each swing, and the kijin… Swings its sword.

The slashes are blocked by the wind the swings produce, and don’t reach the monster.

It managed to just erase the slashes? But Hikari isn’t done, she’s already moving to attack the kijin from up close.

I match her movements, and step ahead to try to attack directly.

The kijin peeks at Hikari, but it swings at me.

I block it, and in the meantime, Hikari attacks it from behind.

It’s a hit… But the dagger bounces back.

The kijin is wearing clothes, but no armor or anything. The only real equipment it has are gauntlets and shin guards.

I don’t know about its clothes, but did the kijin ignore Hikari because it judged she can’t hurt him?

Hikari’s dagger is made of mithril, just like my sword. Is it a matter of raw power…

As I think that, the kijin aggressively swings its sword. It’s like it decided to focus on me more.

I block the attack and feel like yelling at whoever said this thing focuses on defense, but I’m too busy swinging my sword. To be more precise, I’m too busy because the monster doesn’t give me any leeway.

As time goes by, each attack becomes heavier and faster. Not only that, but Hikari tries to attack its back again, and the kijin completely ignores her.

I was thinking that if it reacted to her Projectile Slash, it should draw its attention, but Hikari can’t use it with me in the way.

Next, Hikari decides to attack with magic energy, and that gets the kijin’s attention somewhat. It twists its body to dodge a slash infused with magic energy, then swings its sword at her.

I block it, and we coordinate to attack it, but it either blocks with its sword or gauntlets. Sometimes it also steps to the sides to dodge, and none of our attacks hit.

This goes on for about ten minutes, until Hikari steps back.

She’s out of magic energy.

This wouldn’t have happened so quickly if she was just infusing it into her dagger, but halfway through, she started making it flow in her body to increase her physical abilities.

But she had to do that, or she wouldn’t have been able to face the kijin. And by that, I mean she wouldn’t be able to handle its attacks.

If the monster was weaker, she would’ve been able to deflect its attacks with her dagger, but that’s not the kind of opponent we’re facing.

That’s why Hikari decided the best course of action was to doge.

“Hikari, take a break. If you’re tired, it’s going to catch you.”

Hikari nods and drinks a mana potion.

This will recover her magic energy, but Hikari doesn’t move out right away. Her stamina has been going down too.

But I’ll say this in her honor, it’s my fault she’s so tired. Hikari has been matching me as I cross swords with the kijin, putting more of a strain on her.

I fight the kijin alone, every one of my attacks is blocked, and then I notice something.

It’s blocking my attacks, but it stopped attacking me.

The moment I notice that, a smile forms on its face.

Is it just unbothered… Is it enjoying the fight?

Suddenly, I’m reminded of Stia.

“Sora, it’s time to change.”

I hear.

I immediately jump away from the kijin, and Clift attacks with a spear, Rick attacks with axes in both hands, and Harold swings at the kijin with his sword.

And the kijin responds in a very simple manner, by pulling back. That’s it.

The attacks all miss. It was their first attack, but it was like it knew exactly where they would hit.

But the others don’t panic, and transition to their next attacks.

The second round has started.

Just a quick one with this> “That’s why Hikari decided the best course of action was to doge.” doge > dodge
Apart from that enjoyed the latest update, and have a good day/night. 😎👍
