I’ve cast Appraisal on an orc in front of me. Normally its race would be shown as orc, but not with this one.
No, it’s not just this one. I cast Appraisal on another, and it shows me the same.
“Master, did you learn anything?”
Asks Hikari as I frown.
I feel like she knows I cast Appraisal even though I didn’t vocalize it. It might be because I cast Provoke to draw them to me.
Still, she’s very observant.
“The monsters aren’t monsters? No, I want to look into this a little more. Can I leave the attacks to you?”
After taking down those two monsters, I decide to use Provoke again.
I want to take more time with this one so something other than an orc or tigerwolf… There! I’ll draw in a goblin.
I hold up my shield and cast Provoke towards the goblin.
It was going towards an adventurer, but it changes direction to charge at me.
I block its club with my shield, and cast Appraisal.

Its level isn’t that high, but it is for a goblin. It really isn’t something a newbie can fight one on one.
It could very well be a superior species like a fighter.
I then cast Analysis on the Replicated part.
It says it’s a special individual created through a skill.
Created through a skill? Does that mean a person might be behind this mess?
Could it be sabotage to cause chaos in the empire?
The one most likely to do this is Elesya, but I can’t see them doing something like this now. I’m not absolutely sure, but I assume they’re too busy with other things to pull something like this.
Eldo has motivation to attack the empire, but I can’t see that happening. Although the same can’t be said for people with personal motivations.
More importantly, I need a way to deal with the replicated ones. I’m observing with Parallel Thinking, but I don’t even know how that skill is activated.
Are they not being created with magic energy? I have skills that use MP but also ones that use SP. The latter I can use without any movement of magic energy or anything.
Also, how are they being created? If it’s like my Replication, they’ll match the conditions if they find a monster like those. But does that mean they found tigerwolves that can howl like that?
It’s hard to tell without checking with Appraisal, but looking at their moves, they don’t appear to all be the same. Are there that many special individuals?
The more I think about it, the more abnormal it feels.
I can tell these don’t have a presence or magic energy, but I know nothing of the one that’s causing it.
Assuming that skill has a limit, is our only option to just keep taking them down?
With Appraisal done, I unsheathe my sword and slash the goblin.
I feel a good hit, but the goblin disappears as it goes down.
After the monster group is eliminated for the fourth time, the monsters disappear. When I say group, I mean the one we’re fighting. There’s still fighting elsewhere.
We’re cautious for a while, but they don’t appear again.
“Ahh…”
Adventurers let out deep breaths and sit on the ground, and soldiers move somewhere else while looking at them with bitter expressions.
Many guards sit down too, but these ones are completely spent.
“…Let’s move too. From here… Argo’s group is close.”
I say while checking Map, and we move.
It feels like the adventurers want to say something, but I ignore them and hurry.
What takes precedence is… Our friends, of course.
Adventurers should protect themselves.
As we go, I tell them what I saw on Appraisal.
“So it’s not like summonings monsters perform in dungeons?”
“The way they increase their numbers is similar, but there’s no magic energy when it activates. I don’t know if someone is using a skill.”
Maybe I just couldn’t feel it.
After all, this town is full of all sorts of reactions, and things whose reactions I can’t pick up

Thanks.
Thanks for the update, & hope everybody has a good weekend. 😎👍
