The next day, we pass in front of the guild to go to the dungeon, and I see it’s deserted. We don’t go in, but I can feel it with Presence Detection.
It’s the same in the dungeon, not many people are using it.
There are only a few groups near the entrance, but that’s helpful to us.
“Nice and easy.”
“But is this really okay?”
Say Argo and Guilford on a wagon.
“It would draw attention if there were people around, but there aren’t.”
Argo and the others smile awkwardly when I tell them we’ve already used it on the second floor.
I’ve seen people push handcarts, so I don’t think it will be a problem for a wagon to run here.
But that doesn’t mean the ground is flat. If this were a normal wagon, it’d hurt to sit down. This wagon is more comfortable, and it was modded so it doesn’t shake too much.
“But it’s a problem when there are a lot of golems.”
Argo is right, but the golem wagon’s speed means we can go faster than them.
Still, golem magic stones are rare, so we take down the ones in the main path. Not to mention we can get iron from iron golems. If we melt the iron, we can use it for all sorts of things.
Too bad there isn’t a mithril golem.
“That’s the first floor. Should we go on to the second?”
“Shouldn’t we rest?”
“We fought golems, but we mostly rode on the wagon. And we won’t be able to use it if there are more people around, so we should go while we can.”
He says after I question him wanting to head straight to the second floor.
There was no guarantee the second floor would be like the first, but there aren’t many people here either.
I sense reactions near the entrance, but after as we go a little deeper.
“Let’s just walk until we’re somewhere people can’t see us.”
There are no objections, so we walk for a while, as I check with Map and Presence Detection. Once I see there’s no one around, we get on the wagon.
The second floor is wider, so we take breaks, but we manage to open the second floor’s door today.
There are multiple golem reactions, but they’re all deep inside a side path, so we don’t fight even once on the second floor.
Still, it’s dark by the time we leave.
“Are we going to the reference room tomorrow…”
Asks Argo while stretching.
His face doesn’t look well, but others look the same. The ones that don’t like reading.
“It’s not like we all have to go. Hikari and the others can cook so we have more to eat in the dungeon.”
“Okay. Leave it to me. Big sister Rurika and big sister Sera, let’s make lots of food!”
Both smile and nod. They’re not great at sitting still.
“Mia, can you look after them?”
I think they’ll be fine with Rurika, but it might still be too much for the three of them.
“Okay.”
Mia gladly accepts.
Argo’s party, other than Guilford and Rick, are helping too.
They’re not going to be able to handle seasoning, but Argo boasts that they can cut vegetables and meat.
…Do you hate reading reference materials that much?
◇ ◇ ◇
The next morning, after we have breakfast, I go with Chris, Guilford, and Rick to the adventurer guild.
It’s still empty. Not only do I not see adventurers, but employees either.
We head straight to the reference room and read about the third floor.
It’s a field type divided into two fields, wasteland and water.
The wasteland has rocky mountains crowded together, where ore can be mined. There are monsters, but not many.
However, there are more mithril golems than on the first two floors.
It’s not a problem for people confident in their power, but it would be a bit tough for ones that don’t fight. But there are still quite a few people who pick the third floor because of the good quality ore.
The water area is complicated. The position of the water changes depending on the time of the day, and some places are completely submerged.
The reference materials include those locations, so that’s helpful.
“The problem is that there are monsters underwater. The ones that come out to attack are one thing, but not all are like that.”
“True.”
Guilford and Rick sigh.
They’re right. Do I need a skill that lets me move underwater?
“Apparently we can use the change in the water’s location.”
Says Chris while pointing at a document while we wonder what to do.
I see, so we take them down when the water level is lower.
But that means staying in the dungeon for a long time.
“Well, we just have to take it easy. Worst case scenario, we can just gather enough magic stones for your party to enter the boss room.”
“Really?”
“Yes, apparently this boss’ power depends on the number of people that go in and the amount of points in the magic stones we gather. And it looks like it’s easier the more points we have. But it depends on the party if that’s a good thing or not.
Well, you have a good balance of physical, magic, and healing, so you can deal with anything.”
Says Guilford, and Chris nods.
But it seems that endurance style boss room really is tough. We would need to stay in the room for a set amount of time taking down monsters that spawn indefinitely.
We’re not talking about one or two hours either, it’s at least ten. Although we don’t know how long exactly. All that’s written is what it felt like to them.
We go back, tell the others what we learned, and rest in preparation to conquer the dungeon starting tomorrow.
