Walking in another world – Chapter 751 – Avid dungeon – Part twenty

“No good uh?”

We check the door, but it doesn’t open.

“Should we go northwest? We could go southwest, but I feel like the monsters there are stronger.”

“And the ones to the northwest are weaker but more annoying to take down?”

“Yes.”

I say to Argo. I explained it in kind of a roundabout way, so it’s great that he understands.

Three monsters appear to the northwest, sirens, kelpies, and serpents. And to the southwest, tartarugas, nelshas, and hydras.

Sirens and kelpies are strong, but fall behind compared to other monsters. Although it might be tough to fight them due to their attacks that cause status conditions.

Fascinate and hallucination are especially bad. The latter makes the targets fight each other or kill themselves.

Thankfully, Mia and I can cure them with Recovery, but we might not be able to get to it in time if there are too many.

There’s the numbers problem, and MP too. We can recover with mana potions, but they’ll stop working if we drink too much in a short amount of time.

“Tartarugas have high defense, and magic doesn’t work on them at all, right?”

“They’re going to be hard to take down for sure, but I’m kind of interested in their materials.”

Guilford looks pensive. He mainly uses a dagger or a bow, and he’s definitely the one with the lowest attack power in Argo’s party.

He uses speed more than power, and makes use of his techniques to fight with finesse, so it makes sense that this is troubling for him.

Although falling short compared to Argo and the others in terms of physical strength doesn’t mean he’s weak compared to the average adventurer.

I want to fight tartarugas if I can. I’m interested in a magic item I can make with Creation that can completely block magic.

Apparently it breaks after taking a certain amount of magic energy, so the tartarugas might also have a limit to their perfect defense.

Although that also might render the materials I need for those magic items unusable.

“What about these hydras?”

“Hydras have nine heads, and each head attacks with a breath that has a different element. They also have high regeneration abilities, so the records say only a few have ever been taken down.”

Chris says to Argo.

“Apparently we can open the door if we take down hydras, the problem is taking down enough for everyone.”

“From what I can see, there aren’t that many in the first place.”

I say to Guilford as he crosses his arms.

From what I can see with the Farsight skill, there are only three. But at least they’re alone, so we can fight them one at a time.

“Hn, I don’t like to leave things to others, so I vote for southwest.”

Surprisingly, Guilford agrees with Argo.

“I’d go for the southwest too. If they’re using tricks, I’d rather fight head on.”

Says Sera.

“What about Sora and Mia?”

“I can heal if I detect abnormalities, so I don’t know. I’m worried about my MP if there are many of them.”

“And I want those tartaruga materials…”

We say to Rurika.

“…Apparently there are a lot to the southwest, but we could go have a look over there. I think sirens and kelpies would put too much of a strain on Sora and Mia.”

Says Argo, and no one objects.

With the discussion over, we head southwest right away.

“I know what tartarugas and hydras are, but what are nelshas?”

“Four-legged monsters that are like cats, and can apparently run on water. I think the reference materials said we shouldn’t let them lock in on a target with their nimble moves. They’re stronger than a superior species of a tigerwolf, but they get weaker if their bodies are dry.”

“Weaker when dry. I feel like a lot of monsters in this dungeon have weird traits.”

Says Argo with a sigh. That’s true, there might be a lot of peculiar monsters here compared to other dungeons.

But I also feel like there are many monsters we can hunt safely if we know what to do. This requires a good party balance. Not just physical attacks but magic and healing too.

I think the hardest part might be to put a party like that together. But I have no complaints about our balance. There’s nothing we can’t do, and we have Argo’s party with us too.

In a way, I might be pretty blessed.

I’ve conquered dungeons before, but it was always with experienced adventurers. Argos party, Siphon’s party, the beast king and the others…

“Hn? What is it, Sora?”

“I was just thinking that you’re right. I think we’ll fight a tartaruga first, but at this rate, it will take about a week to get there. What do you think?”

“…Don’t push yourself, and please use Transfer as you can.”

“I don’t think this would be doable without your party.”

“Yes, it’s easier.”

Argo is asking for Transfer, while Guilford and Rick shudder to think about what will happen when we part ways.

I use Farsight, and activate Transfer when I see a nice place to land.
