“Hahahahaha! Take it out on us… You really said that?”
Zaraki laughed after hearing what Ryuuga said with a strong tone.
Koumaru saw his attitude, that did not doubt his own superiority even a tiny bit, and admonished him with a little tongue click.
“Don’t get careless. He’s far more skilled than you imagine. And when you add the Loong King Fang…”
“Shut up. An interesting opponent is here, let me have my fun!”
Zaraki retorted to Koumaru as he put a damper on his fun with a warning, and charged at Ryuuga with an evil smile on his face.
He swung a giant arm with a shining claw upward, and although his attack was parried, Zaraki continued attacking with an amused attitude.
“I wanted to fight you! You took out Black Veil easily, so I figured I could throw the power of my loong form at you!”
He thrust his fist at Ryuuga’s chest, which was blocked head on with the sword.
Zaraki followed it with a head cutting lariat, which Ryuuga avoided by jumping back.
Just as Ryuuga landed after stepping back, Zaraki unleashed an attack to carve him from the abdomen to the chest, but that was also dodged.
Not only that, but he felt his arm being slashed. And when he looked at it, he saw a cut between scales.
“Eh…? You were aiming for it? Or was it a coincidence?”
“…Don’t ask me questions.”
Zaraki was covered in hard loong scales, but he had weaknesses.
A weapon that also possessed the power of loong, and the unguarded spaces between scales.
The former was one thing, but the latter would require superhuman levels of technique to hit. But that was what Ryuuga did.
But that was not enough to rob Zaraki of his confidence, and he laughed with scorn as his arm healed.
“Don’t underestimate the power of a loong. This gets healed in no time.”
“So I can cut a big lizard until I’m satisfied? That’s nice, thanks.”
Ryuuga responded to the provocation with one of his own, and Zaraki grew ever more pleased with his attitude.
He imagined the face he would make when that indomitable spirit broke to his overwhelming power, and unleashed even more intense attacks.
“Now! Let’s continue!! Show me how much you can take!”
Zaraki made use of his body with loong power to execute fierce attacks.
His arms, legs, fists, and claws were much stronger than your average magic item, and he made good use of the weapon that was his body. He continued looking forward to Ryuuga’s defense breaking.
(I know what he’s thinking. He wants to attack between my scales and pile up the damage. But that’s not gonna happen!)
As proven by the last fight, the hard scale armor would not yield to any attack.
That meant the only choice was to target the space between them, but continuing to aim for those small spaces as Zaraki moved around was near impossible.
Ryuuga succeeded thanks to his tremendous moves, but the healing power of a loong soon fixed those wounds.
This meant that even if Ryuuga managed to slowly wound him, Zaraki would not be damaged.
In fact, he had to wait for a small opening after dodging attacks, so his spirit was being drained more.
Would Ryuuga’s concentration break? Would the fierce attacks break his defense? There was no way to know what would come first, but both would lead to Zaraki’s victory… He was convinced of this as he mercilessly attacked.
“Come on, what’s wrong!? Can’t do a thing? Ah!?”
Zaraki howled and continued attacking, as if to show off his overwhelming power.
Ryuuga continued defending and dodging, and at this point, he was finding he did not have the leeway to execute a counter here and there. This further improved Zaraki’s mood.
He ate loong meat and used his power as he wished, including killing people… No one could stand against this power.
He felt great, as he swung diagonally down at Ryuuga’s face, and the moment he saw the attack slip through his defenses, he knew he had won.
“…An?”
He frowned, feeling a few things were not right.
He swung hard, but it seemed his attack was not reaching Ryuuga’s face.
His body was supposed to be in top form and pleasantly light, but… the attack he executed with his right arm was abnormally light.
He continued feeling something was wrong, as he looked at his right arm… and noticed that it was missing from the elbow down.
He then saw dark red blood on Ryuuga’s sword, and gasped while feeling as though he was dreaming.
“…Seriously?”
He thought all Ryuuga could do was aim for the spaces between scales.
Even if he was hit with a direct attack, it would bounce off his strong dragon body… Zaraki’s expectations were betrayed, and Ryuuga turned his body into a roundhouse kick after cutting down his right arm.
“Guooh!?”
Zaraki was dazed after something happened that defied his expectations, and the hit to his abdomen sent him flying far back.
Koumaru watched this pitiful display as he passed by him and hit the rock wall, and mumbled with an irritated expression.
“Idiot… I told you not to get careless…!!”
“…You’re next, Koumaru. Ready?”
Ryuuga pointed his sword at Koumaru, after putting aside Zaraki in his loong form.
Koumaru felt the bloodlust directed at him, and after a big exhale, spoke while clapping.
“You got me. I lost.”
“That’s very meek of you. Are you training to garner my pity?”
“Goodness no! I am simply reflecting on my failure. It was none other than me who made you the strongest swordsman.”
“…What do you mean?”
“It’s simple…”
Koumaru seemed to be hinting at something as he proclaimed he turned Ryuuga into the strongest swordsman.
Ryuuga asked what that meant, and he responded with a small smile.
“I’m just thinking I should have stayed put five years ago.”
