“Good job, master.”
“Good job!”
“That was wonderful, darling~!”
“Shouta, the footage came out perfectly too. You can finish them off quickly starting from the next one.”
“Thanks everyone.”
I high five each in turn, and Kasumi comes towards me like she was waiting for her turn.
“That was great big brother! Everyone was great, but you were the greatest! When did you become so strong!?”
“Well, a lot happened.”
“Uu, I’m curious…! Now I feel like I should have gone after you after graduating high school and gone to dungeons with you.”
“Me and you…?”
I imagine that, but I’m sure I would’ve said no if she tried to come with me. I feel better now because my stats surpassed hers, but back then, I really didn’t want to lose to her. We’d be hit with jealousy every time I took her somewhere, and it would be nothing but bad for her.
I don’t think I could have lived with my sister. I can’t tell her this directly, so how do I tell her? As I ponder that, Aki responds with a light tone.
“No, it’s probably best that you didn’t. Shouta went to my dungeon for three years, and I was pretty much his exclusive, but any normal person doing what he did for a month would’ve gone crazy.”
“C-crazy?”
“Yeah. In Shouta’s case, it was all he could do, but I’m pretty sure I would’ve quit if I had to do that for three days.”
Is she talking about hunting slimes?
Well, I did do the same thing over and over, and nothing new ever happened compared to now. Back then, I couldn’t do anything else, but now that I’ve experienced all these hectic changes, I don’t think I could go back to that…
“Big brother, you’re looking towards the distance… I guess you really had to do something extreme to rise from where you were.”
“I guess so.”
Does she accept that?”
Thanks for the support, Aki. I don’t say it, but express it with my eyes, and she winks… Cute.
“…Okay. I promised, so I won’t ask or pry. It’s good enough that you’re strong and cool like you used to be.”
“Kasumi…”
I pat her head like I used to, after she said something so great about me, and she happily smiles.
“Hehehe, I’m happy.”
“Kasumi, were you always so attached to your big brother?”
“Ah… That’s right, she always came along whenever I did something.”
“I see. That’s nice, Kasumi, you got to make up with your big brother.”
“Maki… Yes!”
Anyway, our first goal of the day, Sandstorm Control, yielded an unexpected result in the form of variant species. That helped fulfill my goal, but now I have two other issues I want to prioritize.
The first, is curiosity about whether or not golems will appear in this sunken state.
The second is that I really need more golem core V. It’s a chance to make my golems even stronger. I can’t let it get away.
But regardless of what I do, there’s a rite that takes precedence. I get the golem core V from Aira, and stand in front of Enki.
“Enki, do you want to switch cores?”
‘Goh? Gogo!’
“What are you talking about, you were the first one I had. I can’t let the others have it first.”
‘Gogo.’
‘Popo!’
‘Pururu.’
‘~~♪.’
With the others’ blessings, Enki takes the core into its body, and ejects the golem core IV.
‘Gogo. Gogo?’
“No, even if you don’t need it, it was your heart for over a month, I can’t just toss it or sell it. I know… How about if I use it to decorate my room?
‘Goh! Gogo!’
I pat the happy Enki as I infuse magic energy into it. Its maximum amount and stats have doubled, and it has two more skill slots. Then I should give it skills…
“I know… I’ll add the Shield Techniques Lv2 and War Cry II I was keeping as reserves.”
‘Gogo~.’
Name: Enki
Grade: Unique
Core: Golem core V
Material: Iron and steel
Magic energy: 3200
Skills (10/10): Physical Resistance V, Automatic Recovery IV, Chaotic Strength II, Rampart V, ★Shield Techniques Lv2, Combat Techniques Lv2, ★War Cry II, ★Iron Sand Control Lv2, Earth Shaking III, Giant’s Arm
Combat arts skill: Dynast claw
I think that does it.
I could have it learn Water Current Control, but then Enki would be all muddy. Then I wouldn’t be able to carry it, so I discarded that idea.
“Aira, iron sand.”
“Here.”
Enki takes iron sand obtained from crushing magic iron, and its iron content increases. It was only its fists before, but at level two, it can cover itself to its elbows.
I can expect more firepower, and it can make a fully iron sand body in its one meter form. On the other hand, its weight has increased again for its portable fifty centimeter form, but I can carry it and the house is sturdy, so it’s okay.
“Well then master, what are you going to do next?”
“What time is it?”
“Half past ten.”
“Hm… It’s all right. Let’s get two more golem core V.”
“Very well.”
I feel like I forgot to leave time to roll the gacha. Then I feel monster reactions popping up everywhere in the water.
Unlike when this was a marsh, I can’t see them. It’s probably like with sand, and they’re lying in the water.
I could have Enril, Iris, and Seren exterminate them, but I want to see them first.
“…Is this okay…”
I grab a rock and skip it on the water.
Multiple golems hear the noise and rise with their water bodies.
“True Appraisal.”

We have two golems made of water at home, but would they be like this if they were big and had no cuteness?
They have the same stats as the mud golems, but there’s one clear difference. Their cores aren’t exposed, they’re floating in the water. If they conquered that weakness, that means these ones are harder to take down despite having the same level and stats.
But this proves it. Monsters adapt and spawn in different forms if the environment changes!
