The Mud Rock Golem probably noticed us, because it’s moving its mushy body. It’s rich in skills and has high stats for just a rare. It also seems like it has high defense, because it has a coating of mud on its rock body. I might’ve had a tough time if I fought one of these first instead of a Stone Golem.
It doesn’t feel like attacks will hit well, but there’s another reason. This area isn’t sandy, it’s a sea of mud that can very well trip me up. It would be hard to run around and keep my posture in those conditions.
Although all of that is submerged now.
Well then, Enki could easily take it down, but since it’s a new monster, we should film it, and fight it with a nice balance.
Ayane is tired from using such big magic more than once, and she’s filming, so…
“Aki and Maki, do you want to give it a shot?”
“Yes!”
“Leave it to us!”
Both step forward and hold up their weapons. It looks like Maki will fight with the camera equipped.
“Are you sure about this, big brother? I can help…”
“Leave it to my fiancees. Don’t worry, they’re all strong.”
“Y-yes…”
The Mud Rock Golem moves first, like it recognizes them as its opponents.
It reaches towards nothing with its muddy arm, but I don’t think it’s to attack. I think it senses danger. The girls each dodge to the left and right, but lose their balance in the mud.
““!?””
The marsh has spread near them before they knew it, and they’re sinking to their ankles.
Even from far away where I’m standing, it felt like it happened instantly, so if this phenomenon was caused by magic, it might be the effect of Mud Doll.
Also, this marsh moves like it has a mind of its own, wrapping around their ankles to restrict their movements. Normal adventurers might have trouble fighting with this mud in the way, but not these two. They didn’t just watch my crazy training, they took part in it, and are no slouches when it comes to polishing their strength. A small obstacle like this is nothing they can’t handle after recovering from the surprise.
““Out of the way!””
The mud’s resistance is useless as they jump out and swing their weapons.
“Seih!”
“Ha!”
Aki’s punch breaks both the mud and the rock inside into pieces, and Maki’s spear blows both away.
The enemy’s control skills are level three. It can quickly repair its rock body and the mud coating, but their attacks are fierce. They easily overcome the enemy’s regeneration ability, and soon enough, all that’s left is the torso where the core is and the head.
“You can take it down.”
I yell, and they pierce the core at the same time.
The core expels a lot of smoke, and the rocks also turn to smoke as they disappear.
“Good job you two!”
““Yes! Ah…””
Both are ready to take off running, but then they look at themselves.
They’re self-conscious about the mud, and want to clean themselves.
“Mu? It didn’t disappear…”
It’s not just the mud on their bodies, the mud used to hinder their movements didn’t disappear into smoke either. I guess aside from the mud covering the monster when it first appeared, everything else was made gathering sand and water with magic. It looks like the dungeon doesn’t recognize it as part of the monster.
But I don’t care, and go hug them.
“Ah, Shouta…”
“Muu, you’re gonna get dirty.”
“It’s proof of your hard work, it’s okay.”
“Hehehe…”
“Geez… Kasumi is watching.”
She says, but Aki seems happy anyway.
The girls clean themselves, and we watch the smoke emerge from the rare monster for ten minutes. Eventually, something happens. The smoke starts to swell, and the presence I feel makes my heart throb.
No one, except the lower level Kasumi, can hide their nervousness, but that’s also down to experience.
‘Voooou…!’

“Eh… That’s more than I expected.
The skills are looking nice, but the golem core V is what catches my attention. Normally I might’ve complained about a monster like this not dropping a treasure chest, but that’s an even bigger reward.
And I’ve decided to take down three of these.
Considering what we’re doing next, taking it down quickly is a good option, but since it’s the first time, I want to test its power.
“Enki, come. Let’s take it down together.”
‘Gogo!’
‘Voooh…’
The Giant Mud Golem swings its arm, and our feet suddenly sink in the mud. I saw this skill before, but the effect is a lot different than just hindering our moves.
Two a hundred and seventy centimeter tall mud dolls emerge from the marsh.

“So this is supposed to be a skill to call minions, not stop us. But only two…”
As I say that, two more appear. They might spawn infinitely as long as there’s mud. I don’t want to leave them be, so maybe I’ll take care of them first.
“Enki, handle the boss.”
‘Goh!’
Slash!
I cut the four mud dolls down together, but they get up like nothing happened. Do they not have a core? Can they just regenerate and appear as long as there’s mud?
But while the high Physical Strength and Constitution stand out, they have paltry Dexterity and Agility. It’s no problem even if they surround me, because it’s easy to escape. Although it would be different if the battle dragged on.
I check on Enki, and see it locked in an intense battle, grappling with both arms and punching each other. Being a rare II means it’s not a rock body coated with mud, it’s all mud.
Still, Enki is superior in terms of skills. It doesn’t appear to be struggling, and it’s more like it has a toy that won’t break unless the core is hit.
I can focus on what’s here.
I use Duststorm Control and Muddy Stream Control to spread the mud, and mud dolls don’t appear in that spot again.
As I thought, there has to be a certain amount for the dolls to be formed.
“Then… Hmph!”
I swing my sword after boosting my power with skills, creating a gust of wind that blows away the mud.
That makes the weaklings not appear, and not regenerate. I wait for a bit, but mud doesn’t appear again.
“It either can’t make more because it’s focused on the fight, or needs to fulfill another condition… But that’s fine. Enki, you can take it down.”
‘Gogo!’
Enki grabs both arms of the monster, and headbutts the core in the center without resistance. That does it, and the core is smashed.
【Level up】
【Leveled up from a hundred and one to a hundred forty-four】
That headbutt was just the start of a technique. It should then create a horn drill and execute a pile bunker combo. But that wasn’t necessary because the enemy’s weak point was exposed.
“Good job, Enki.”
‘Gogo~.’
Still golem monsters have high stats across the board, but the core is a fatal weakness. The Constitution stat does pretty much nothing for the core. Their bodies can regenerate forever, so maybe that weakness balances it out, but it only benefits their enemies.
I need to do something about Enki, because it also inherited that weakness.
