I’m unemployed but I’m exploring the dungeon again today – Chapter 123 – Hundred and eighty-sixth day – I – Part one

I’m starting the day scolding Fuuma.

I’m not mad about being lost in the dungeon. That’s probably part if why I’m scolding it, but I’m mad about something else.

Don’t you get it!?

You! What do you have to say!?

You’ll read everything? That’s not the problem!

How much was this? A hundred thousand!? Stupid horse!!

This morning, the harnesses I ordered from an amazonian site arrived, but that wasn’t all. I received a box with ten manga, and two boxes with a figure, trading cards, and more.

What is this, I asked the deliveryman, who said it was what I ordered and left.

I was confused, but when I checked the voucher, it said it was two harnesses and a ‘bonus manga set’. I checked on the order history on my phone, and I did order a manga set.

Did I order it when I was still hazy from sleep, I thought, but then I saw the fat horse happily opening the box

Y・o・u・!?

Fuuma was happily holding the figure in its mouth.

I crept up from behind, took rope from my Storage Space, and quickly tied it, leaving it lying on the floor.

That was the start of my scolding, but sadly, it doesn’t look like it learned its lesson at all.

It’s still peeking at the box.

It’s probably looking down on me, asking itself if I’m done yet.

And so, I throw everything into my Storage Space.

It yells, but I don’t care.

It’s your fault for not learning your lesson, I say as it forcefully rips the ropes and comes crying ‘mhe’.

What? Are you sorry? You won’t do it again? So give it back?

Too late stupid horse!

The tablet has been confiscated too!

Yes, not only can Fuuma operate the TV and air conditioning controls, but it started using the tablet before I knew it.

Horses are incredible these days, I thought, but not so, because it made an order without consulting me. I was the one who made it accessible to everyone, but I didn’t expect it to master it like that.

Letting it use the tablet is too dangerous. Who knows what expensive thing it will order next.

It goes ‘mhe’ even louder when I tell it the tablet has been confiscated.

Shut up Fuuma! Quiet! You’re bothering the neighbors!

I warn Fuuma as it cries as loudly as a horse, but it shakes its head. Looks like it won’t accept having the tablet taken away.

What are you a cellphone addict, is what I’m about to ask when the doorbell rings.

I’m pretty sure it’s a neighbor who wants to complain about the crying, but what I see is the landlord.

Ah, happy new year.

Ah, yes, it’s noisy. I will make it stop.

Eh? Kidnapping?

Did that happen around here?

No? My house?

Apparently my landlord mistook Fuuma’s cries for a child, and is worried I kidnapped one.

Do I really look like I would do that, I ask, but get a silent nod in response.

I’m gonna cry.

No no, you’re wrong, I say while holding back tears, and explain that it was just Fuuma, a horse. But the landlord frowns quizzically.

There’s no point in explaining any more, so I take the landlord over to the crying Fuuma. I’m relieved that the landlord reached the conclusion that there’s no crime going on here.

But then…

“No pets allowed.”

I’m told.

◇ ◇ ◇

I give Fuuma one volume of manga to stop it from crying.

It wouldn’t stop, so I relented and gave it back access to the tablet, along with one manga volume per day.

However, I removed all shopping apps, and made it so no micro transactions can be done in games.

We can’t have pets here, but the landlord is letting it slide because the place is being demolished soon. As long as it doesn’t bother the neighbors, and if they complain, I’ll be immediately evicted, I was warned.

I could only bow and say yes.

Even if I insisted that Fuuma isn’t a pet, it’s going to be treated as such because it looks like a horse. I could explain that it’s a summoned beast, but that will fall flat the moment I’m told to send it back and can’t.

But seriously, I can’t send Fuuma back.

I’m not wearing the guardian beast armor, but it’s still here like it’s no big deal. I don’t get it. Maybe it counts as me wearing it as long as it’s in the Storage Space.

I try taking it out, but Fuuma doesn’t react, it just keeps reading. It’s not related to me having it equipped.

I’ll ask in the weapon store.
