“Hou? Request? I’ve been working for you all this time and now that I was finally having myself a bath, there’s a request?”
“No, well, yes, but you can say no if you want. Just listen…”
That evening, just before the dormitory’s curfew, Yuugo visited Angel, and fidgeted as she stared at him and he felt a little cornered.
He did feel like he was throwing too much annoying work at her, and Angel whispered as he turned away.
“Good grief… If Phi didn’t contact me, you would’ve seen me without having a bath for a few days…! Think about how I feel, idiot…!!”
“Ah… If it really is no good, I’ll go back. Sorry for asking too much…”
“You leaving quietly after everything that happened also annoys me! I have something to say too, so stay!!”
Angel thought to herself that if not, she would feel like an idiot for rushing into a bath, and invited Yuugo inside the workshop.
Yuugo felt bad as he went in, and she handed him documents with all sorts of information.
“What is this…?”
“The plans to improve Blaster using loong materials. Lately I’ve been spending all my time researching this.”
Yuugo could not understand most of it, but he could tell most of it was about improving the flaming armor and purple armor.
Angel signaled with her eyes for him to hand over Blaster, and spoke after a sigh.
“A certain idiot used this magic item and didn’t think of the strain it put on him, and it really troubled the person maintaining it. And if you had a trump card like the purple flaming armor, you should’ve told me.”
“S-sorry… I was going to tell you after I improved it a bit more.”
“Ask the technician first, and try it after learning that there’s no problem!! Do that again, and I’ll twist Phi’s kinks!”
Angel’s large chest swung underneath her overalls as she stated the most frightening threat in Yuugo’s eyes.
Yuugo nodded again and again, and Angel continued after another sigh.
“…About improving Blaster, the loong materials helped a lot. Since they have resistance to all elements, I can use materials on the inside of the armor, and minimize the heat expelled from Blaster that reaches you. Data shows that if I use water and wind loong materials for cooling and heat dissipation, something can be done about even the purple flaming armor’s heat, with limitations.”
“Ooh! Awesome! I knew you could do it, An…!”
Yuugo was surprised and happy to hear something could be done about even the immense heat of the purple flaming armor, but he stopped talking as he felt her leaning on him.
An wrapped her arms around him tightly, and spoke with a dejected expression.
“But… don’t overdo it. I probably can’t stop you, but don’t do something like that that can kill you again. If you do, I won’t look after your magic item anymore. If the guy I fell in love with dies because of the magic item I maintain, I’ll be traumatized for life…!!”
“An…”
She confessed when he used the flaming armor before, but there seemed to be even more emotion in it this time.
That was what led him to be reincarnated in the first place, but Yuugo knew his biggest flaw was his inability to consider his own life at crucial moments. And he made a promise to Angel as she hugged him.
“…Sorry. I’ll do it right this time. I’ll talk to you when I create a new form, and won’t overdo it. I’m really sorry, An.”
“You say that, but I know you’ll overdo it when the time comes. But remember there’s a girl about to cry any time it feels like you might die.”
She used her tears as her greatest weapon to warn Yuugo.
He thought once again she was right, and she continued.
“I’ll mod Blaster in a few days. That’s all. Now’s your turn. I’ll listen to you as long as you’re holding me.”
“O-ou…”
She continued leaning on him… No, putting her center of gravity on him even more, which threw Yuugo off.
The two large and soft masses touching him made his heart race, and he cleared his throat as if to clear away that sensation. He then talked about Jinba’s request.
“Hm? A foldable bowgun… That’s pretty nostalgic.”
“Jinba was asking you to do maintenance on it. Can you do it?”
“I can, but does he even use it?”
“It sounded like he doesn’t.”
“Well, it’s not like it can’t be used… but compared to Melt’s Seward Ring, it lacks power, precision, available uses, versatility, and that ability to bring out high power at a moment’s notice…”
“Eh…?”
Angel’s opinion was harsh, thought Yuugo.
Angel let go of him, took the magic item, and started pointing out problems with the foldable bowgun.
