“Hn…?”
A boy with a deep voice spoke as the three argued, and when they turned towards him, they saw Velda looking at them.
They saw their party members behind Velda, including Peewee, and awkwardly mumbled as they looked at them.
“Ah, no, hum… D-do you need anything?”
Shian felt flustered, wondering if they saw the ugly argument they were having, and tried to put on a gentle smile as he spoke.
Velda responded after a short sigh.
“I’ll go straight to the point. Sorry, but we are leaving the party.”
“Ah…? Ahhhhhh!?”
Shian couldn’t process what Velda said quietly but with a resolute tone.
After a short time, he yelled as he understood, and Wars and Trin spoke to their parties with flustered tones.
“W-why…? Why are you doing that…!?”
“Is it because you didn’t do anything during this incident!? But that’s…”
“That has nothing to do with it. We just think we can’t follow you anymore.”
Said Peewee with a big sigh.
Shian was irritated by the attitude of the party members he assigned to important positions, and spoke with a little roughness in his voice.
“What do you mean you can’t follow me!? Why are you saying that!?”
“…You were responsible for the criminals starting their rampage during this incident, weren’t you? You ruined the guards’ plans and exposed the city to danger.”
“But that’s…!!”
“You were the trigger for the criminals to start rampaging, and then ran away… And then you called us. What were you thinking?”
“You couldn’t beat a monster armor beast alone, so you called us to fight with you, right? You acted without talking to us, and then called us when you couldn’t handle it. What kind of joke is that?”
“B-but! You know…!!”
They were showered with cold gazes and stabbed with sharp words, and Shian tried his best to make excuses.
But Peewee looked straight at him, and spoke with more anger.
“And what’s worse is that you tried to force Neries to go with you. You know about her trauma with monster armor beasts, right?”
“That’s…”
Neries was a member of Shian’s party that was not there, and suffered serious wounds after being severely beaten during the battle in the insectary.
Shian knew she locked herself in her room ever since then, but was so preoccupied with fixing the combat miko’s flags to join him that he failed to do anything about it.
Of course there was no way she was going to follow when told to go fight monster armor beasts.
Shian was irritated by her refusal and tried to convince her and take her along, but she continued to shake her head… That delayed him and made him late to get to the hospital, leading to the events of a few days before.
“You ignored her all this time and decided to ask for her help because you couldn’t handle what you started? What kind of joke is that? We’re not tools to be used by you when it’s convenient.”
“We felt indebted because you helped us, so we put up with it, but… We reached our limit. We can’t follow you anymore.”

This could not be. Luminous History did not have events where party members quit.
Shian panicked, wondering how this happened, and failed to realize this way of thinking was the problem.
The people in this world had hearts. They were not simple beings controlled by choices in a game.
It did not matter how much they hurt them emotionally, since they were game characters… They did not treat them like people and thought they could get away with everything using their game knowledge, and that was the biggest reason why their party members became emotionally distant.
“We’ll return the equipment you gave us. After that, do what you want.”
“Good bye. Thanks for everything.”
Equipment wrapped with cloth was thrown at the feet of the trio.
They looked at it with shocked expressions, as Velda and the others left.
“Why…!? Why did this happen!? Dammit!!”
Main characters were abandoned by game characters… Shian screamed, unable to accept it. Wars and Trin stood silently with pale expressions.
They were supposed to gain experience to be at their best heading into the field trip, but lost everything. They could only lament this reality in front of them they could not accept.
