“Really, what are you doing!?”
“Uhi…!”
A few days had passed since the capture of Regen and the destruction of the criminal organization he led.
The kidnapped children were safely retrieved, and there was so little damage that it was hard to believe that mess during the Water Thanksgiving Festival even happened. People thanked the guards for their work and put their trust in them.
No problem at all, all was well that ended well… Or it would be, but this mess was not without issues.
There were people who really messed up.
Shian and the others’ thoughtless actions ruined the guards’ plans.
That would be fine by itself (it wasn’t), but they did not stop there.
They picked a fight with Regen and started the rampage of the criminal organization, but disappeared in the middle of the fight.
Both guards fighting and townspeople involved saw them get blown away by Regen and run away, so from their point of view, they thoughtlessly amplified the damage and ran away in fear.
This disgraceful behavior was done by people wearing uniforms of Luminous Academy, so it was only natural there would be a flood of complaints from regular people and guards.
And so, Uno called Shian, Wars, and Trin, and the trio was receiving a great fantastic dressing down.
Uno sighed, exasperated by how many times he yelled at them, and continued.
“There was the incident with the Friends of the Night Society, and the time people from the three big families in Yamato came, but you really act without thinking too much! Even if it was out of a sense of justice, you just make things worse by increasing the damage!”
“N-no, we did think about it a lot…”
“We didn’t run away from the Thanksgiving Festival. There was another group, so we went there to deal with it!”
“Didn’t we run to the hospital!? We really didn’t run away!”
“So report it first before doing anything! If you reported from start to finish, there wouldn’t be any trouble!”
“““Uguh…”””
The three groaned, having nothing to argue back against an even angrier Uno.
Uno exhaled deeply, and continued with a tired expression.
“The guards filed an official complaint because of this incident. So did the participants of the Thanksgiving Festival. The school can’t turn a blind eye to your actions. You are hereby confined to your rooms to think about what you did. Understand?”
“P-please wait! Be a little more lenient…”
“Are you in a position to ask for leniency? Think before you speak. If you cause any more problems, you will be barred from the field trip.”
Being confined to their rooms was basically a suspension.
They wanted to do a lot to prepare for the field trip, so not being able to leave the dormitory was a painful blow.
This incident showed their lack of power in the first place, so they had to work to level up… but if they could not go outside, even that was out of their reach.
The other hero prospects would be preparing for the field trip and the events that happened in it, creating a big gap between them.
Also, they worried that they would receive some sort of penalty during the field trip as well, and pleaded with Uno to remove this penalty. But he rejected them with a cold tone.
The three hung their heads, and Uno spoke while pressing his brow.
“While you’re confined to your rooms, write an apology to present to the school and the guards. And if you act rashly again, I won’t show mercy. Don’t forget that I’m being plenty compassionate as it is. Understood?”
“…”
All they could do was silently nod.
They were released after the lecture and hearing their punishment, and left Uno’s office.
They walked to their rooms, as their expressions gradually turned from dejection to anger, and lashed out at one another.
“It’s your fault…! This happened because I had to drag you two around! If I was alone, it would’ve worked out!”
“Ah!? Screw you! We didn’t make it in time for the hospital battle because you were so slow!”
“And you really think you would’ve beaten something we couldn’t beat together!!?”
An ugly fight ensued between the three, and a group of students appeared from somewhere to talk to them.
