Apparently they’ve noticed that I’m back, because Reina comes right away with Snow in her arms.
It looks like Snow really likes that position where she holds onto Reina like a koala.
“Ah, welcome back Arata… Hum, who might you be?”
“Thank you. I’ll explain everything, so stop looking at me like that.”
She’s looking at me like she’s exasperated about me bringing trouble again.
Well, she’s not wrong, but I’m definitely not the one responsible for it.
“This is Miss Sheryl, the darkness great spirit I’ve talked about before.”
“…She is…”
I introduce Miss Sheryl, and Reina looks very surprised.
Then I keep going and explain the rest, and sure enough, she looks exasperated.
“…Well, I understand what’s going on. Snow?”
Reina shakes Snow a little to wake her up.
“Hn…?”
“The grandpas are here to visit, and they want to see you.”
“Grandpas?”
“By the way, Mister Guen wants to be called grandpa, and Mister Giarth wants to be called gramps.”
“…”
“Snow?”
She’s staring at Miss Sheryl.
She always does this when she meets someone for the first time, but she saw her in that temple, so it’s not actually their first time meeting…
“Grandma!”
Snow hops from Reina’s arms, and hugs Miss Sheryl.
I guess she remembers her.
“Grandma!”
“…”
The height difference means Snow is holding on to her waist, but Miss Sheryl gently caresses her head, and touches her cheek.
“Have you been doing well?”
“Yes! Always with mommy and daddy! And made friends too!”
“I see, that’s nice. And Snow… That’s a nice name you have.”
“Hehehe.”
I freeze up without thinking, as I see a gentle expression that I’ve never seen on Miss Sheryl’s face.
The impression that I have of her is that she’s scary, but this is enough to completely flip it around.
“Do you remember Guen and Giarth?”
“Yes!”
“I see. They want to see you, so let’s go outside.”
“Okay.”
I see them leave, but is that really all right?
It feels to me like Miss Sheryl will do something if it comes to that, but I don’t want to just leave them and end up with the house being blown away.
“Anyway, I’ll go have a look.”
“Yes… Please do.”
I go outside, and see Xellos and Merlin cautiously looking on a little far from here.
Tiltue is with them too, looking like she’s defending them.
They probably don’t think they’re enemies, since they’re here in front of my house, but I guess they can’t help but be that way when three powerful beings suddenly show up.
And at the heart of it all is Snow, who is looking up at two other great spirits.
“…”
“…”
There’s a weird air of tension here, probably because Mister Guen and Mister Giarth are nervous.
No, hold on, why is the mood like this just because they want her to call for them?
“…”
Snow points to Mister Guen first…
“Grandpa!”
“Yeeeeeees!!”
“Nuoooooooo!? Whyyyyyyyyy!?”
Mister Guen’s flames burn as he cheers over his victory, and Mister Giarth yells in despair.
But then Snow’s finger slides over.
“Gramps!”
“Fuoooooooo! Ooo! Ooooooooo!”
You two are exaggerating a bit.
Mister Giarth is too excited, and there’s a weird steam coming from his body.
And Snow has a big smile on her face, not intimidated by them at all.
I just know she’s gonna be something big.
“H-hey… Can I hug you a little!?”
“Nuna!? H-how dare you jump ahead!?”
“I’m not! I asked and everything! Right, Snow!?”
“Hn…”
Snow is taken aback by these two fighting like children again, and looks like she’s thinking while looking at Mister Guen.
“No! It looks like it’s hot!”
“Wha…!?”
“Fu, fufufu… Then I will hug you!”
“Hn…”
She’s thinking again.
By the way, I guess it’s because he’s excited, but something that looks like steam is spewing from Mister Giarth’s body.
And his body is made of metal.
So… It looks really hot.
“No! It looks like it’s hot!”
“Nuna!?”
Snow then gets away from them, and runs to Miss Sheryl.
“Grandma! Up!”
“Yes yes. Extend your arms.”
“Yes!”
Unlike her usual scary demeanor, Miss Sheryl holds Snow gently and affectionately.
That said, she looks too young to be called a grandma, so she looks more like she’s her mother.
“H-hey, that’s not fair, Sheryl!”
“Yes! Hug me too!”
“You two are too noisy and stuffy. You’re scaring Snow.”
Miss Sheryl points at them, and a black vortex appears. They then start to disappear, as if sucked in by it.
“Ooh. It’s going away.”
“M-merciless…”
“Hmph. That’s how you should treat those two.”
The vortex gets smaller and smaller as it disappears.
This is originally the magic Miss Sheryl uses to move to different places, but I guess she can use it like this too…
“By the way, where did you send them?”
“The alfar village. If those two idiots don’t show their faces there, the little alfar will be troubled too.”
“Ah…”
I guess after all that, they never went to the alfar village even once.
Monsters won’t get close if they’re around, so they really should drop by.
“Grandma, down.”
“Really?”
Miss Sheryl puts Snow back on the ground, and she runs toward Tiltue.
“W-why are you coming here…!?”
“Tiltue, let’s plaaaaaay!”
Snow says as she dives straight towards Tiltue.
It would usually be a charming sight, but…
“Don’t keep thinking I’ll always be the same! Xellos guard!”
“Wai, Tiltue! Gyaaah!? C-cooooold!”
Xellos catches Snow after being used as a shield by Tiltue, and immediately puts her down and creates flames.
The last time he touched her, he was using magic energy to protect himself, but it looks like it’s colder because he was caught off guard.
I guess Snow hasn’t recognized Xellos yet.
“…It looks like she’s having fun.”
“Yes. Everyone’s a friend to her.”
“I see…”
Miss Sheryl smiles slightly, as she sees Snow chase Tiltue while laughing innocently.
It makes me think that she’s actually a nice person too.
