“Ah…? What did you… You feel lighter when wearing armor? Don’t say nonsense. Wearing armor makes people’s movements duller! If there was armor that made people more nimble, full body armor magic items wouldn’t have become obsolete!”
Rush was right. Normally, armor was something that sacrificed agility in favor of defense.
But there was a critical difference in perception between him and Yuugo. And that difference combined with the power of the reincarnated Yuugo, became the source of the strength that was beyond his comprehension.
Yuugo’s strongest ability was… The power of imagination.
The shows broadcast on Sunday mornings that he loved to no end would sometimes showcase this power, based on strength of mind and spirit. This power turned him into one of the strongest people in this world.
Yuugo was originally the eldest son of the noted Clay family. Being born into a prominent family alone gave him considerable talent.
But he did not grow, because he failed to work on that talent. The fact that he really did have that talent and he got through most things through the power of his treasured sword Garandil were the reasons for his downfall.
That was why he was defeated by a being called a main character, both in the game, and that world… But the fact that the soul of Yuugo Kurei was inside him changed his destiny dramatically.
Yuugo’s virtuous soul awakened the spiritual power laying dormant inside Yuugo, and with it, came magic energy.
Conversely, Yuugo’s body and the talent in it allowed the regular tokusatsu fan called Kurei to bring his imagination to life with its great physical abilities.
With these two things combined, Yuugo could faithfully replicate the heroes he had been fascinated by since he was a child. The strong power of imagination linked directly with strong battle potential, created the boy known as Yuugo Clay.
Yuugo did not see Blaster as armor. He saw it as a powered suit that enveloped his body through an henshin item.
Yuugo saw it basically as a battle uniform heroes donned when it was time to fight, and due to the power of what was basically a wrong impression, he was able to move without feeling much weight from the armor.
Once transformed, heroes became stronger than regular humans. And so, if Yuugo also transformed, the same should happen to him.
He did not think this, this idea was grinded into his subconscious, and this childish thought resonated not just in his mind, but his heart as well. And that was why when he donned Blaster, when he performed his henshin, he was able to display shocking physical abilities.
But there was no way for the Rush and the others to understand this logic. After all, not even Yuugo himself, who displayed this astounding power, could understand it, or even notice it for that matter.
And so… In their eyes, Yuugo was just something that was impossible to understand.
Yuugo, who lost everything including the treasured sword that should be what supported his power, displayed overwhelming strength. To those watching, he was simply a monster.
“Well then, no we have a one-on-one. Let’s finish it, Rush!”
“You…! Scum that got disowned getting carried away!!”
The cheers of the students watching suddenly stopped.
Rush should have been dominating Yuugo, but the battle suddenly turned completely the other way, and the smiles on the audience’s faces turned to bewilderment.
And Rush, who had completely lost his smug attitude, was further enraged by Yuugo’s words, and let that control his movements as he moved out.
He raised his sword with bloodshot eyes, and growled as he charged forward and his yell echoed through the duel arena.
“I’m gonna cut you down! You’ll be slashed to death by my hand!!”
“Hey hey, are you sure? If you charge at me all undefended, you’re just letting me do whatever.”
Yuugo dropped his posture, and readied himself while focusing magic energy in his left hand.
He clenched his fist tightly near his hip, and as he worked out the distance between himself and the charging Rush, he slipped under the swinging sword, and hit his special move in Rush’s face.
“My style finishing move, Crimson Crimson Fist!!”
“Gubaah!? Gah, ha…!?”
The counter blow made Rush stagger.
His eyes desperately tried to stay conscious, as he convinced himself it was not over and he could still fight. And Yuugo, whose posture was still low, stepped forward again and displayed his left fist burning with crimson magic energy.
“Another! My style finishing move! Rising Crimson Fist!!”
“Gahaaaah!!”
Rush’s jaw was caught by a perfect uppercut.
The bursting finishing move combo broke through the wall serving as a barrier and the defense powered up by magic energy, and sent Rush’s body flying. And the students watched with dumbfounded expressions as it smacked on the ground.
“Oah, gah, ca, can, can’t, be…! How is, this scum, so strong…!?”
“Thanks, I’ll take it as a compliment.”
Yuugo turned his back to Rush, who was staggering to his feet with glassy eyes, and hurled abuse at Yuugo right until the end.
With his back turned, Yuugo did not see his opponent crumple to the ground, as his victory was declared with a whisper.
“…Knockout.”
“U, gah… Guha…!!”

God damn it. By the power of friendship.
So he’s gone full tokquger then. Imagination and training are a wonderful paring. If the original personality was still there this would be a full on firestorm situation.
So is he subconsciously using strengthening magic? Or is his imagination just that strong that his mana just does whatever he imagines.
